What To Expect
Kunming
At 08:00, you will be picked up by your tour guide from the lobby of your hotel in Kunming downtown. Then, you will be driven from Kunming to Dongchuan Red Land (3 to 3.5-hours, 150KM), a new rising tourist destination near Kunming
Dongchuan Red Land
Upon arrival, take a tour of Music Hollow (Yuepuao), Jingxiu Garden, Old Tree.and enjoy the beautiful red land of Luoxianggou Valley surrounded by mountains at sunset. From a distance, Luoxiagou looks like a sunken depression. See traditional local villages adorn the colorful fields along the way. We will spend around 3hrs there including the lunch time, we will back to Kunming around 15:30pm and will need 3.5hrs driving as well.

Interesting day trip outside Kunming seeing the red soil farmland and mountains

5.00Take a car ride a few hours away from Kunming to Dongchuan “red land” with some interesting sites as you go into the countryside. We stopped by several scenic spots to see the red earth and farmlands (lots of corn, but also some canola and other crops) and take photos. The tour guide Tina is very knowledgeable and helped make the trip worthwhile, and the driver uses a new and comfortable minivan that gets us from place to place. We went in early October and it was quite chilly already, so be sure to bring some warm clothes, particularly for when you get to the higher elevation spots. On the plus side, this trip doesn’t require much hiking compared to the other Kunming tours we did, so it was a nice break from all the exercise.
