What To Expect
Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park
Our tour guide and driver will meet you in the hotel lobby, pay a visit to Tianmen Mountain. Regarded as the soul of Zhangjiajie, Tianmen Mountain is the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie. The views include graceful ancient trees, karst hillocks and long roads that are carved from the sides of the cliff. The cablecar takes approximately 30 minutes from the city center to the mountain top and is the longest one in the world. The most popular attractions on the top of mountain are Heaven Gate, Glass Skywalk, 99 Bend Road and so on. Be transferred to Furong Town in the afternoon, it takes approximately 60-70 minuted driving from Zhangjiajie to Furong Town by a private van.
Furong Ancient Town
Nestled in the lush mountains of Western Hunan's Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Furong Town (literally "Hibiscus Town") is a captivating ancient town that seems suspended in time. What makes Furong Town truly unique is its spectacular natural setting, seamlessly integrated with human habitation. The town is dramatically built on a cliffside, with rows of traditional Tujia stilted houses (Diaojiaolou) cascading down towards the You River. The most breathtaking feature is the magnificent waterfall that flows directly through the heart of the settlement, earning it the nickname "Town on the Waterfall." You will particularly enjoy the night lights of this beautiful ancient town. Under a starry sky, Furong Town at night is no longer just a historical site. 5.00We had an absolutely fantastic experience with our guide, Zoe, during our visits to Tianmen Mountain and Furong Town. From the very beginning, both Zoe and the driver were incredibly punctual and professional, which gave us great peace of mind. What truly made our trip special was Zoe’s genuine care. We were traveling with our 6-year-old son, and she was tireless with him, always making sure he was comfortable and even surprising us all with sweet treats as a gift—a very kind gesture that we won't forget! The logistics were flawless: we didn't have to wait in any lines, which is a huge plus for such popular attractions. Even when it started raining and visibility on the mountain was low, Zoe remained encouraging and patient until the weather cleared up. It was definitely worth the wait! To top it off, we asked for a local recommendation for lunch, and she took us to a wonderful restaurant with authentic and delicious food. If you are looking for a professional, punctual, and deeply caring guide in China, we highly recommend Zoe. She is simply the best!

5.00This was a great tour. Amy, our guide, was absolutely lovely. It was a private tour with just my husband and I, but it felt like I was on a tour with my bestie and my husband tagged along. Amy is Very knowledgeable and super accommodating. She’s very warm and friendly and truly made the trip. It was a long day and we have to also shout out to the driver who did an incredible job of safely driving us around. The show at the end of the day in Furong was such good fun! Would recommend.
