We had a fantastic 1 hour wild boat tour adventure with RIP SAFARI. Since we went in early May, the puffins were not flying to their burrows during the day and were out floating somewhere out in the ocean. But our guide Christine provided very interesting info about the birds. Best time to see them in May is early morning or late late in the evening. I understand that later in June and July, they fly back and forth to their cliffside burrows to keep their eggs warm. So you can see them all day long. Even though we didn’t see puffins on the boat tour, the tour took us to several sea caves which were interesting to see. The scenery was amazing. (We did see the puffins later that night thanks to Christine’s viewing tip.). I highly recommend this booking.

It was a nice boat and we had a great trip but they kept talking about how we would see puffins before the tour but when we took the tour, the guided seemed to expect that we wouldn't see any puffins which we didn't. We just felt they set the wrong expectation.

We had an exceptionally special and beautiful boat tour on 10.5.2026 despite rain. A special thanks to Chris and the captain and the rest of the team. We really enjoyed every second. 10. maí 2026 fórum við í sannarlega sérstaka og yndislega bátsferð, þrátt fyrir rigningu. Sérstakar þakkir til Chris, skipstjórans, og alls áhafnarinnar. Við nutum hvers einasta augnabliks.

B was a great guide and the pilot navigated rough seas well. Great trip. B even called us later to make us aware of the weather warning!

This was the best tour that we have done in Iceland. The stories that B (our guide) shared about life on their island were touching and beautiful. The stunning views around the islands were epic. And the music that was chosen was perfectly timed to the caves that we toured. It wasn’t a perfect day for weather and it didn’t matter. Vestmannaeyjar will have a special place in our memories forever.

We had a great experience on this tour!! We booked the 2 hour tour but the weather wasn’t cooperative so it got cancelled. They got us on a 1 hour tour at the same time so we still got to go. The tour guide was great and it was so cool to see the island from the water. The sea caves, puffins, and elephant rock was awesome.

We had an amazing tour with our tour guide “B”. The seats on the boat are very supportive and bounce with you as you navigate the waves making for even more fun. We had the best view of elephant rock and experienced the coastline in a way you cannot from the land. You will see and enter multiple caves and might even see a Puffin. We easily would have begged for even more time to explore further. Highly recommended.

This trip was a blast! The RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) was super fun, small enough to float us into the entry of sea caves. Our guide entertained us with her personal perspective and stories, while experiencing sea caves, lava tubes, puffins, and the surrounding dramatic landscape. One suggestion for the tour company: while traveling between stops, the captain played loud rock music to cover the sound of the engines. We would have preferred the sound of the engines and the waves (or perhaps could play traditional Icelandic music to match the mood of the adventure).
