Where to eat in Chinatown can be overwhelming, so this is where we come in! Enjoy 3 mouthwatering sit-down tastings: 5 types of dim sum, authentic Peking Duck prepared as if you were in Beijing, and Malaysian street food. The tour also includes a modern and traditional dessert, representing two sides of a changing neighborhood. Join us for a memorable journey that will leave you with a deep understanding of the flavors, history, and confidence to navigate Manhattan’s Chinatown!

*SEATED INDOOR TASTING* Start off your food tour with a multi course tasting of classic dim sum items from Chinatown's "first made to order" dim sum restaurant, and Michelin recommended for the past 10 years.
Learn about the history of Manhattan's Chinatown and how the area developed to what it is today. Explore the different micro neighborhoods of regional communities who immigrated here over the past 200 years.

5.00Chinatown food tour with Bert James was amazing. Highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about Chinatown and taste some really delicious food. I have lived in NYC for many years and still learned so much and Bert showed us some great restaurants that we can return to in the future.

5.00We can’t say enough good things about our experience on the tour! The food was delicious and substantial. We loved learning about the history and customs of the neighborhood. However, having Bert as a guide was what made the tour the highlight of our trip. His knowledge of the food, the community, and the history was expansive, but, more than that, he was so pleasant, kind, and FUN. We would have walked around with him talking about food and the city for the rest of the day if we could. If you have the chance to request him as a guide, do it!

5.00Best tour ever. Bert gave wonderful history of different parts on Chinatown with great enthusiasm and excitement. We had the equivalent of three full meals over about 6 stops. All perfectly coordinated.

5.00We booked this tour last Saturday, on a day when gale force winds were blowing and it was 10 degrees. But Bert was able to finesse our schedule so that we could do all of our food tastings indoors. And Bert was absolutely awesome, he regaled us with so much fun history and stories about Chinatown, the restaurants we visited and the people who make it happen. We had a blast and got to taste some things I had never had before. All very tasty, cannot recommend the tour enough.
