Embark on your first-afternoon game drive exploring this acacia woodland, freshwater swamps, scrub brush, and open plains in search of wildlife returning back at sunset for dinner and your overnight stay. Amboseli National Park (392sq km) is famously known for the breathtaking view of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain on earth and the tallest in Africa (5895m). Amboseli is also an elephant’s paradise where the massive African savannah elephants roam from swamp to swamp grazing all day. Because of the abundance of water and pasture, other animals to be spotted here are cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, gnus, gazelles, hippos, and many others.

Water is abundant throughout the year and so is the pasture. Elephants and various other herbivores are found here. Retreat to the lodge late in the afternoon after a long exploration of this 392sq km. You'll also have an option of starting the day with an early morning game drive to search for animals when they're at their most active. Then return to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast and lunch. Spend the hottest part of the day relaxing in the camp reading your favorite book or writing your journal about the safari or just listening to your favorite music while observing the birds. Don't stress, the animals will be doing the same. Afterward, head off in the afternoon (4:00 pm) for another drive through the park. Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and your overnight stay.

Today after an early breakfast, drive west past Nairobi city for scenic views towards Lake Nakuru National Park. You will have a stopover at the spectacular Great Rift Valley viewpoint to stretch your legs and photograph the contrasting landscapes. Lunch today will be a local cuisine served at a local restaurant, en route to the park or an English buffet at your lodge/hotel. After lunch, proceed for a game drive in the park, and thereafter, check into your hotel later in the evening. This is among Kenya's finest national parks. It is gorgeous all year round and boasts rocky escarpments, patches of yellow-barked acacia forest, and a waterfall. It is home to flamingos, both black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and the endangered Rothschild's giraffe. The southern end of the lake is the best place to see wildlife. The forested area below the Rhino Cliff is a favorite lion-spotting point where lionesses love to sleep in the trees, and leopards frequent the same area.

Embark on your first game drive in the reserve this afternoon in search of the Big Five and other herbivores that roam around in this beautiful savanna. Return to your lodge at sunset for dinner and your overnight stay. One of our favorite places to look for wildlife in Kenya is the Masai Mara National Reserve. That's because the wildlife here is incredible, with big cats (lions, leopards, and cheetahs) and elephants among the highlights. There's a very good chance you'll also see giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and, of course, impalas. And bring your binoculars, because more than 500 species of birds have been recorded in the reserve. It's a place of beautiful savannah landscapes as well, with lots of acacia trees. Visiting the reserve is a highlight for many travelers.

We had the adventure of a lifetime on our safari through Kenya and Tanzania, organized by Lucy at Camptrek Safaris. From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well planned. The logistics ran smoothly, our accommodations were comfortable and well-located, and the food exceeded our expectations throughout the trip. Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about the wildlife, landscapes, and local cultures. Their expertise and friendly approach made the experience even more enjoyable—and we always felt safe and well cared for. This trip was truly unforgettable, and we’re so grateful to Lucy and the entire Camptrek Safaris team for making it such a seamless and enriching journey. We highly recommend them to anyone looking to explore East Africa!

We traveled with a group of 11 friends and Camptrek proved to be so much better than expected. Our unrelenting questions were completely and honestly answered by John or Lucy at all hours. The 10 day safari was customized specifically for us and was truly phenomenal. John and our wonderful, talented drivers, Pili Pili and Benson, went above and beyond to give us the trip of a lifetime. They made sure we saw every animal we came to see and then some, multiple times. We visited three national parks and our accommodations were all top notch. Not one negative comment. Thank you Camptrek! Africa is a feeling!!

We could not have been more delighted with our first 10-day wildlife migration safari. For years we dreamed of experiencing such a journey, and when the opportunity arose to travel with nine of our close friends, we knew we had to seize it. Our adventure began and ended in Nairobi this past August, and from the moment we arrived, Camptrek Safaris Limited ensured that every detail was seamlessly taken care of. From accommodations and meals to park fees, game drives, and drivers, everything was perfectly arranged at a very reasonable cost. We arrived at The Boma Hotel in Nairobi late at night, where Lucy, our Camptrek contact, graciously met us and helped with an effortless check-in. The hotel was comfortable and welcoming, and my husband and I even had the chance to enjoy reasonably priced massages during our downtime. The following morning, two nearly new Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs awaited us at the hotel entrance. Equipped with chargers and ice chests, the vehicles were spotless and well maintained, making our travel both comfortable and enjoyable. A highlight of our trip was a dawn hot air balloon ride over the Masai Mara, which concluded with a champagne bush breakfast—an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Equally moving was our cultural tour of a Maasai village led by Helen Nkuraiya, the director and founder who is committed to providing education and opportunity for women and girls. This meaningful visit was a thoughtful and authentic alternative to the typical Maasai village tour. Throughout the journey, our guide Papa John and drivers Benson and PiliPili were outstanding. Their skillful driving, deep knowledge of wildlife, and warm personalities made every game drive extraordinary. We were fortunate to see the Big Five along with countless other species, and each day brought new and thrilling encounters. By the end of our safari, we found ourselves in tears of joy, overwhelmed with gratitude for the experiences, the wildlife, and the friendships that made this trip so special. This was truly the adventure of a lifetime, and we cannot thank Camptrek Safaris enough for making it possible.

If you are after the ultra pro max of game drives, you’ve met your match. Being the F1 fanatic he is, Steve lives on a motto of efficient and effective. Your game drives will be on 1.5x speed but don’t be fooled, his 50/20 vision will spot things not visible to the naked eye. If you aspire to be the Pokémon master of Safari, you’ll be sure to catch them all with Steve and have the best time while at it! He’s so knowledgeable about the animals and the routes as well which made for an action-packed experience. We were so sad to depart with him and wish him all the best in his future endeavours. See you around, Mr International!
