We had a great experience with Mr. Lim as our tour guide and tuktuk driver for our full day tour around Phnom Penh and surrounding area. As a former high school teacher of Cambodian history Mr. Lim was the perfect person to facilitate our learning and contextualize the many things we were seeing. For the monuments and temples Mr. Lim explained the history and cultural significance of these sites himself, acting as a tour guide and including his own personal anecdotes. However, at many sites such as the Royal Palace, Genocide Museum, and Killing Fields, Mr. Lim could not go in with us. This is regulated by each of these privately owned museums that you must use their tour guide inside if you want a guided tour. At these sites, we did decide to pay for a guide and Mr. Lim gave us as long as we wanted to tour around in each place. Before we went into sites like this where he couldn’t come with us he would give us some context for what we were about to see, and then afterwards he would debrief with us and answer all the questions we still had after our visits, often including his own life experiences. It was quite nice having both the official site guides and Mr. Lim introducing these sites as it further reinforced our knowledge and filled in gaps that the other may have omitted or missed. As a survivor of the genocide himself, Mr. Lim has first hand knowledge and experiences related to all the modern history sites you visit, and he was so generous in sharing his own experiences and life stories with us. Mr. Lim was a patient and knowledgeable guide and we were truly fortunate to have had him as our guide for this full day.

This tour was an amazing way to see so much of the city and culture in one day! Vanna was very passionate about Cambodia culture, and provided information at each stop. Vanna left me to explore some parts of the city on my own, while he remained only a message away. Vanna stuck a great balance between providing information and letting me explore the city for myself. Highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic tour. Great driver Elvis with good English. Took us to destinations first that would have been hotter in the afternoon. Very thoughtful and kind. Offered water throughout the day.
