We had a great day visiting the amazing temples and the floating village. Our tour guide, Mr Thean - also known as Handsome Bullfrog, and the driver, Ratha, were friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful experience.

A very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. He was on time and the driver knew his way to avoid traffic. We had to shorten our day tour due to the extreme heat 🥵 but still saw the main temple Angor Wat.

Best tour combining perfectly the temples and the sunset over the lake. Full day tour but it doesn’t feel rushed and you can decide to adjust the visit depending on your taste/areas of interest. In our case we did a one hour stop at the hotel after the temples which was great to rest before going to the lake! Car/boat Driver and the guide were great. We have also had a very good experience exchanging ahead of the tour on pick-up and other logistics. Will do again!

Our day started out well with Theam picking us up right on time. His knowledge of the history about Angkor Wat, the Floaring Village and the Lake and Siem Reap, was excellent. He has a great way of expression when telling you things. He looked after us very well. Our Driver also made us comfortable, supplying us with water and cool towels all day. Overall, we had a fantastic day.

We really enjoyed our one day tour and without doubt, Pin, our guide, made sure we got the best out of our visit. His tour started as soon as we got in the tuk-tuk! Pin shared with us information about Cambodia as it is now and recent Cambodian history. Arriving at Angkor Wat it Pin ushered into the welcome shade of a tree before starting to tell us about the impressive sight beyond the moat. and even why the moat was important. (Not all moats are for defence) As Pin shared his vast knowledge about the history and architecture of the temples, he pointed out details we certainly would have missed if we'd been wandering around on our own. I was particularly impressed with the details he pointed out and explained on the bas-reliefs. We got to see some pretty impressive trees too which in some cases were keeping the structure in place! It was all very well timed. So that we could visit nnd learn about four temples without it feeling rushed. There was just the right amount of walking for the heat! Mr Buffalo waiting with his tuk-tuk to transport us between temples, looked after us well too...plenty of cold water to keep us hydrated! The refreshment stop for lunch offered a good selection of food too to suit different tastes. The timing was perfect to see the sunset from a temple at top of a hill with a fantastic view all around. Pin grew up in the area and it was intersting to learn about what that was like, what wildlife there was then and is now. We were privileged to spend a day with him.

I'm thrilled that I can finally visit the floating village and properly went into Tonle Sap, the biggest lake in Cambodia. It was only a short day trip, around 3 to 4 hours trip but the stories and insights of the guide truly made a difference. He shared with us a bit about himself, the livelihood of people in the village (even brought us up to one of the houses!) as well as some history of a nearby temple complex, the Bakong Temples. The entrance fee to the floating village for foreigners costs 12 dollars each, slightly pricey to be honest, but you do have the whole boat/ferry to yourself. I guess that's why... All in all, make a visit to the floating village, you'll not regret it and bring a guide with you!

Book this tour and ask for Thean! He is a talented guide and a great host. Thean and his driver were at our hotel at 8am. His English is fantastic and the temple trips well planned. Thean is candid, engaging and accommodating of the needs of his guests. He helped take great photos and we had fun learning about Cambodia and its history. Unlike many tours, no high-pressure sales pitches or trips to trinket shops. For lunch, Thean took us to a good quality and reasonably priced place. We had an early afternoon break at our hotel before being picked up for the lake. We returned after the sun set. For people with little time in Cambodia, the tour combines the best sights at Angkor Wat and Tonle Sap/a floating village in one day (boat ride is $20 cash each but worth it). The tour was a bargain and a memorable experience.

We had an amazing day trip with our personal guide Pal Chen. Mr Chen shared with us all his great knowledge about history, land, culture, temples and religion of the country. Angkor special tours was recommended to us by one of our relatives who did the same tour one year ago. We were a group of four people and had a perfectly planned tour to avoid all the big masses of tourists and got the best views on all temples during the day. To get from one sight to the next we had a small van with air condition and we were served cold towels and water. Would recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing the amazing temples.

Today is Wednesday, November 6, 2019. I just returned from a fantastic day with Mr. Chen as my guide and Sombo as our driver. I’m staying in Phuket, Thailand for 10 days and decided to take an overnight excursion to see Angkor Wat. I certainly made the right decision and feel very fortunate to have had such an outstanding guide and driver. Mr. Chen met me at the airport this morning at 8:00 and he had a wonderful itinerary planned for our day together. He knew not to start at Angkor Wat the first thing as it would be very crowded. So we started at Bayon temple and worked our way backwards finishing our tour in the afternoon at Angkor Wat. A former Buddhist monk and highly educated, Mr. Chen shared so much information about each temple we visited. His knowledge of the history of each temple is vast and he speaks impeccable English so I came away with a true understanding of why Angkor Wat is among one of the seven wonders of the world. The heat and humidity were some what of a challenge for this Southern Belle from Kentucky but Sombo was always there to pick us up and greet me with a lovely air condition vehicle, a cold bottle of water and the best thing...a cold towel! Aside from sharing his extensive knowledge about each temple, he also took pictures for me on my phone. Some of the pictures were just of the temples and some had me included as well. He took several panoramic photos and numerous videos wherein he narrated as he was filming so I will have those to review as a permanent keepsake of my experience today. Much of the temple grounds have uneven or slippery steps to navigate. Additionally, there is some climbing of steps fairly high and then coming down. Mr. Chen was a consummate gentleman, always offering his arm to make sure I didn’t fall. The restaurant they took me to for lunch had the best seafood Pad Thai I’ve ever had. At the conclusion of our tour, Mr. Chen and Sombo made a special stop for me at a grocery store on the way to my hotel, going out of their way to help me. Most importantly, I had an unforgettable day that was filled with laughter, immense history and kindness from two really exceptional men, Mr. Chen and Sombo. Thank you both for a wonderful day!!! If you are reading this review, you will be in for a special experience with Mr. Chen and Sombo. Janet Staton
