Here, a local expert will show you all of the steps necessary to make a delicious chocolate bar, starting with the cacao pod off the tree and ending with a tasting of the exotic flavour combinations that this chocolatier has created. See how the fruit of the coffee farm, through a process of fermentation, gets transformed into your favorite cup of coffee. Enjoy a tasting session while overlooking the green cloud forest. SPEND the night in pristine Intillacta, where biologists and nature conservationists try to conserve the unique ecosystem called Chocó. Me and my boyfriend went on their chocolate and coffee tour from Quito. It was incredible! The coffee tour was at a smal local place, with a very friendly guide, and... we even got to roast our OWN coffee! We learned everything about the cacao, got to see the whole chocolate making process, from the tree to the choclate bar. On top of that, we tasted everything cacao: the cacao fruit, the nibs, all types of chocolate and even did some very unexpected chocolate experiments! The lunch was included! We both got the fish option, which was delicious! Our guide was very knowledgable and nice.
