This tour was fantastic! The communication between the drivers and tour guides was excellent. Every transfer was seamless. We felt very well taken care of. This trip included so many activities and we were able to add on a tree walk on the second day! I wish we would have upgraded the hotel but ultimately it was only one night and it was safe, just old. I highly recommend this trip and would absolutely book again with this company.

Make sure you eat on the last day, because lunch is not provided. There are good cafes available. Drivers are very kind and knowledgeable.

Although I am not a Lord of the Rings fan and did not know much about the particular settings from the movies; I sill had a nice day here. The location is lovely and the creations are fabulous. I also enjoyed going to the Green Dragon at the end of the tour and enjoying a glass of cider.

The two day trip was an efficient way of getting in some sights that were on our lists. The company handled all logistics and the drivers took great care of us. The sights themselves are quite touristy and honestly should not be on your bucket list. You get a much more sophisticated introduction to Maori history and culture at the Auckland memorial museum ( amazing place! Take a guided tour). If you’ve been to Yellowstone or Larsen you’ve seen better geysers. The glow worms were fabulous, but you get a max of ten minutes in the boat and I’m not sure it’s worth hours of travel. So: if like me you felt you had to do these things, this tour will get you there. But you are better off taking two days to hike or explore an area closer to where you are anyway.

We had an amazing time on this tour! While 2 days went by fast, we felt we had the time to enjoy each location completely. The tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and coordination between the guides was smooth for the most part. We had one small transfer hiccup and was able to call the main office and get back on track quickly. We definitely recommend the 2-day tour option with the morning off in Rotorua. It allowed us to enjoy a local hot springs spa!

It was really nice to have everything coordinated for me. Overall the tour went smoothly. I really loved Hobbiton and the Māori experiences. The pace did not feel rushed, but I still felt I got to see a lot. My only negative was with the free morning the second day. If I had known what the extra morning activities were, I would have happily booked one. It was never offered to me and I only found out from another traveler in my group. By then it was too late to book anything and it ended up costing more; plus I had to coordinate all the logistics of transfers. Better communication in this area would have made this a 5 star experience.

It was an amazing experience! We loved every part of the tour — Hobbiton, the geysers, the Mitai Maori Village, The Waitomo Glowworm Caves. The tour guides for each of the attractions are all so welcoming and they made sure we all had a great experience. Even the drivers we had bringing us from one place to another are all so wonderful and awesome. Definitely recommending this trip.

FlexitoursNZ gave us the best service concerning our trip/tour to Rotorua. Everything worked ok and beyond the expectations. They accomplished and arranged all our requirements, so we had the best experience in this trip from Aukland to Rotorua for 2 days. If you have any doubt or inquiries, they answer the telephone and e-mails immediately. The drivers/guides, all of them, were amazing, and they drive very carefully. We visited 5 attractions, all of them wonderfull. This is really an excellent agency, and we recommend to everybody that come to NZ to get its tours.

We just completed a 2-night 3-day "Hobbiton and everything but the kitchen sink" FlexiToursNZ excursion. What a fantastic experience! Our family of four was in good hands with FlexiTours. We simply hopped aboard our comfortable van and enjoyed the ride, grateful to avoid the challenge of driving on the other side of the road and able to enjoy the scenery out the windows, stress-free. Our driver from Auckland to Hobbiton and Rotorura, Louise, entertained us with her deep knowledge of the region all along the ride down, answering each question we lobbed at her, even through a rainstorm. The weather was perfect by the time we reached Hobbiton, and Louise took care to give us crystal clear directions on when and where to meet her at the end. In Rotorura, she tossed in a short side trip to a historic bath house and the lake before our next destination, Te Puia geothermal park, and a delicious buffet lunch. FlexiTours set up our overnight accommodation at Jet Park hotel and was precisely on time to pick us up the next morning, for a full day of geothermal adventures. On day two of our tour, we were driven by Cathy and treated to her local knowledge. We visited a bubbling mud pot, a rushing waterfall, a stunning geothermal park--Waiotapu--and a lakeside town where we enjoyed lunch with a view. Noticing how much we loved the first geothermal park, Cathy added a side trip to a smaller park, which ended up being a highlight of our day. Day three of our tour was rainy, but we were in excellent hands with Edson, who drove us over rolling, sheep-dotted hills in a rainstorm with utter confidence. Our visit that day to Waitomo Caves was not to be missed! A stunning display of nature's wonders as we floated in darkness and silence under a ceiling of glowing bioluminescence. The mood aboard our FlexiTours vans was friendly and convivial, and we felt safe and welcomed. I have only glowing things to say about FlexiTours. They made travel easy!
