Rainbow Beach
Guests departing from Noosa will be picked up between 5:20–5:45 am before a scenic drive North to Rainbow Beach, where the group comes together. Guests starting in Rainbow Beach join at 7:30 am before a short drive to Inskip Point to board the ferry.
Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, dugongs, and seabirds as you cross on the barge (ferry) to the World Heritage-listed paradise of K’gari.
Travel along K’gari’s famous “75 Mile Beach” aboard a purpose-built 4WD vehicle designed for comfort and adventure.
Head inland to Pile Valley for a rainforest walk among the island’s giant satinay and brush box trees.
Lake McKenzie
Continue to the jewel of the island, Boorangoora (Lake McKenzie). Here you’ll have time to swim in the pure, crystal-clear waters and enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch. Your guide will share stories of K’gari’s ecology, native wildlife, and Butchulla culture — including how to safely respect the island’s wongari (dingoes).
In the late afternoon, we travel back to the coast and check in at our exclusive permanent powered camp. Unwind with a sunset platter, followed by a hearty Aussie BBQ dinner under the stars. After dinner, gather around the campfire, and if the night sky is clear, your guide will lead a short walk for a special K’gari Star Show.

Rise early to watch the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean before breakfast at camp. Today begins with a drive north along 75 Mile Beach to one of the island’s most popular swimming spots, Eli Creek, where you can float downstream through crystal-clear freshwater.
Next, step back in time at the SS Maheno Shipwreck, a rusted ocean liner beached in 1935, and hear the fascinating stories behind its history.
Lake Birrabeen
If the tides and weather allow, the adventure may continue inland along the Southern Lakes Circuit to the tranquil Lake Birrabeen, a beautiful alternative to Lake McKenzie with fewer crowds, perfect for relaxing and swimming.
Central Station Rainforest
Depending on conditions, we may also visit Central Station and the serene Wanggoolba Creek, once a logging camp and now a lush rainforest haven with boardwalks beside clear waters.

After a picnic lunch, it’s time to farewell K’gari. Travel south along the beach to the ferry, crossing back to the mainland and returning to Rainbow Beach by late afternoon. Noosa passengers continue onwards, arriving back around 6–7:00 pm.

5.00This was a great I introduction to K'gari. We went to all of the major spots as well as some places I would not have found on my own (such as the coolest tree I have seen). A great laid back two days soaking up the peaceful atmosphere. Highlights included swimming at Lake Mackenzie, a beautiful walk through the rainforest, and the greatest night sky ever. The campground was well maintained, and the meals were delicious. It was great to just enjoy the experience and not have to worry about driving the 4WD roads. Having a small group meant that it was easy to get from place to place and very relaxed. Our guide Joshua was so enthusiastic about the island and looked after us well. He even took the time to rescue another car that was stuck in the sand. It was one of my favorite tours I have taken in Australia, and I would highly recommend it.

5.00Book this tour it's the best . Jenai, the guide is an incredible driver,fun to be with and knowledgeable. If you book the camping experience there is just a little more time to visit and see the highlights. The evening at the campsite sitting round the fire is fun and everything's well organised , with really good food. I recommend this trip also for solo travelling. 5.00We (just two solo travellers) had an amazing time with Jenai! She's such a kind person, a really good driver, and it felt like we all knew each other after only spending about 32 hours together. When it got a bit stressful (pulling another car out of the sand), dingos on the beach, Jenai reacted so calm and professional. I never felt unsafe. But we also had so much fun and laughter together. It's a very special place, and if you want an amazing guide, really good food, a small group with a bit more time at each stop, and a really well thoight out plan and tour...do this one!
