We use a couple of different ice caves for our 2 day South Coast tour. Ice caves are ever-changing and unpredictable natural phenomena. We usually visit the Crystal Cave at Breiðmerkurjökull during this tour but when the Crystal Cave is inaccessible we will most likely visit Katla Ice Cave. Which ice cave is chosen will however always depend upon the conditions and safety considerations on the day, sometimes a different ice cave will be visited. If conditions do not allow us to visit an ice cave a glacier hike will be offered as an alternative.

This tour has the flexibility to make the most of the seasonal changes such as changes in weather and conditions. During the summer Iceland is characterized by energizing bright nights and midnight sun. Between August and May, if the forecast is suitable, you might even be able to spot the magical show put on by the Northern Lights. It is important to note that a guided Northern Lights hunt is however not included in the tour. Other wonderful and interesting possibilities can also come up during your south coast tour with us as Iceland is full of surprises.

The best travel experience I had so far! Well planned and organized. The sightings and destinations were wonderful. Thanks to the tourguide Ronan, all of us who were on the tour really bonded fast as a team, and it felt like we knew each other for a long time... The atmosphere was simply top. He immediately made us introduce to each other...there was so much positive energy, I'm still stunned when I just think about how fast he made it happened. People from China, Switzerland, USA, Portugal/Brazil, Serbia, Russia, Japan, all together as one. He also provided us so much knowledge about Iceland, and the local lore and infrastructure, and history... I was amazed how much he knows...Such an energetic, charismatic, and positive character, so rare to see. And a really great sense of humor. He was also very professional when it came to our safety, really explained us in detail what we should, and shouldn't, and WHY (which is in my opinion one of the most important when it comes to safety and well-being!) The sightings were amazing, with enough times on each checkpoint. It couldn't have been done better. And also a big thanks to the Ice Cave guide Helki. Also a hell of a guy in the best possible way! Very professional, positive and reliable on a dangerous, and stunningly beautiful terrain. Thank you Arctic Adventures, and big thanks to the tourguides Ronan and Helki for the best experience so far for me!

Ronan was a very efficient driver and excellent historian-tour guide!! The tour was seamless! Since there were only 5 of us passengers (off season) we really did good with time that Ronan showed us 2 more places not on the itinerary! Thank you, Ronan! You are an MVP!! The monster truck ride to the glacier with Helki was rough and bumpy, it was an experience on its own! The highlight of this tour for me was Katla! She was surreal! One has to see it while it is still around- it is sitting on an active volcano that may go off anytime! Thanks to my personal photographer ( i can’t believe i forgot his name!!:(( and Helki who got me cinematic pictures inside the cave and on top of the glacier! Thank you Arctic Adventure and crew for these memorable experiences!! Am coming back for more thrills with you in the future!!

We recently completed the 2-day South Coast tour, and it was incredible. Our guide, Chris, was amazing! It was an absolute pleasure exploring the coast with him and chatting with him along the way. Chris gave us plenty of time to explore each site and shared fascinating insights into the landscapes and the history of Iceland. You can really feel his passion for the country in every story he tells, and the information he gives, as well as assuring everyone is safe during our travels with him.

  • It was a comfortable tour.

I had the best experience in Iceland in the ice cave. Met new people from other countries and different cultures. The weather was unppredictable and didn't help us enjoy all the activities on the tour . Diamond Beach that day was disappointing due to weather conditions. . The accommodation was in a nice location with basic breakfast and rooms but set in a beautiful traditional Icelandic landscape. Good service and communication with arctic adventures !

Amazing trip, we did get very lucky with the weather which elevated the whole tour. Wendy is such a good guide, she had really interesting anecdotes to tell us throughout the tour and was able to answer all our questions. The time she gave us on each visit was optimal and she went above and beyond to try to show us northern lights at night. The spots included in the visit are mesmerizing and the number of stops we did felt very adequate for 2 days. Also Wendy is such a good driver, we felt absolutely safe. We look forward to booking another (longer) tour for our next visit in Iceland :)

Wendy was great. Driving and telling us stories. Safety number one. Even a fender bender was a non event. A smooth slow motion. Fender bender which was the other drivers fault and she veered away from driver to minimize contact. 5 min delay and we were off.
