Everything was perfectly organized, the accomodation was beautiful, the food was excelent and the views of Kilimanjaro were unforgettable. Our guide Johnson was very nice and friendly. We learned a lot about the animals living in the park. Thank you Beacon Safaris and Johnson for wonderful experiences.

  • An unforgettable safari with the incredible Harun - a credit to Beacon Safaris! 🤩

Booking this trip was so easy, fast, and straightforward! Communication was fab, and our companion and guide, Harun, was confirmed well in advance, with a great itinerary that was packed full from pick up to drop off! From the moment Harun picked us up at the airport to the moment he dropped us back days later, our entire safari experience was seamless, fascinating, and full of laughter. He guided us through the Amboseli with expert knowledge, a great sense of humour, and genuine care, spotting wildlife that we’d have never seen without his keen eye and attention to the environment! Harun is a popular figure; he seemed to know so many people all over the region and at every stop, from the Amboseli Park and the Maasai village, to the Giraffe Centre, making every stop feel personal and special. Harun isn’t just a guide, he’s a family man, a storyteller, naturalist, and friend. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience - a credit to Beacon Safaris! Highly recommend all round 🤩

We had the most wonderful two-day safari in Amboseli with Harun as our guide. From the moment we met him, we felt completely looked after. Harun is a kind, gentle, and genuinely caring person — always smiling, professional, and attentive to every detail to make sure we were comfortable and happy throughout our trip. We booked our safari through Robert at Beacon Safaris, based on the many great reviews, and he was so helpful from start to finish. The whole process was incredibly simple, and everything ran so smoothly. We’ll admit we were initially a little worried it might be too good to be true — Beacon is much cheaper than many other companies, and it all just seemed too easy to book — but you absolutely needn’t worry. Everything exceeded our expectations, and our recommendation would be to just go for it! You’ll have the best time. Harun’s knowledge and passion for the animals and the park were inspiring, and his deep respect for nature made the experience even more meaningful. Mount Kilimanjaro made for a truly magical backdrop as we explored the park, and Harun was absolutely eagle-eyed, spotting animals from miles away and ensuring we didn’t miss a thing — from lions, zebras, elephants, and giraffes to so many more of Amboseli’s amazing creatures. We stayed at Oilepo Lodge, which is only a five-minute drive from the main park gate and overlooks the park itself. It was absolutely beautiful — the food was amazing, and we loved relaxing on the outside patio in the evenings, watching the sunset as elephants, zebras, and baboons came to the watering hole. It was such a special and peaceful experience. We chose the minivan (and yes, we did bounce our way around Amboseli!) — it was surprisingly comfortable, with reclining seats that let us snooze our way there after an overnight flight. It even made it through a flooded stream, adding a fun, rustic charm to the adventure. Many people opt for the Jeep, but in our opinion it’s not needed — we had an absolute blast (and plenty of giggles) racing around looking for all the incredible animals. On our checkout day, Harun arranged for us to visit an authentic Maasai village, which was a real highlight of our trip. This is not a mass tourist experience — we were the only visitors there, and the villagers made us feel incredibly welcome in their home. We were fascinated to learn how they build their houses and live their day-to-day lives — it was a truly humbling experience. We also had a great giggle joining in their dancing and singing, which was so much fun and a memory we’ll never forget. Afterward, on our way back to Nairobi airport, Harun accompanied us to the Giraffe Centre, where we had a blast feeding the giraffes and watching two of them go on a “date”! He then took us for a delicious BBQ-style African lunch at the Mangrove Café — the perfect way to end our trip. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better guide, and we hope to come back again one day with Harun leading the way. Thank you, Beacon Safaris — and Harun in particular — for making our experience the absolute best!

Our tour guide Carlos made this an excellent time. He was late meeting us at the Namanga border crossing, due to no fault of his own, and drove very well to get us to Amboseli Sopa lodge so we could still get lunch before they stopped serving. The game drive that followed was magical, finding 2 massive elephant herds marching towards a very clear to see Mount Kilimanjaro as the sunset cast other worldly lights through the dust clouds. The next day we left at the time of our choosing and drove to Nairobi where he took us on a driving tour of all of the highlights we wanted to see in the city center. Then he took us through the national park where he found us the rhinos we had not been able to see elsewhere, along with lions and many other animals.

We had the best time with Beacon Safaris. Its been a while since then (February 2022), but I still remember the safari as a perfect experience. We traveled alone as two young european sisters and felt safe with our guide Robert the whole time. We catched up at Nairobi airport and had a 2,5 hour flight delay. So he waited patiently at the meeting point without any sign of us. Everything worked just as planned and we had a safe 5 hour ride to Amboseli national park and back. The Kibo Safari Camp which was included was one of the most spectacular accommondations I‘ve ever seen. We would recommend to stay there longer than one night. Food was good and everything was clean and inviting. For us two longer game drives we‘re enough, we would‘nt have enjoyed a longer safari. But this is a personal opinion. Robert was well informed about the animals, the history, and hidden jems of the parks. His english was perfect and he had a nice and clam way to show us around. He also was really willig to show us as much animals as possible. We decided for an mini van with an open roof, which is cheaper than a jeep. This was totaly fine for us, because the jeeps as mostly for a better asthetic, which we didn’t care for. The van was in good condition, we felt safe. During the whole trip (including weigh stations), nobody was pushy about buying souveniers or having any extra bookings. Our ride back to the airport was perfectly fine, he scheduled enough time for boarding (Nairobi airport is quite busy). Thank you Robert and Beacon Safari for that great experience. We should have tipped you better - sorry we were career entrants back than.

We had an unforgettable two days safari organized by Simon.Simon’s organization and attention to detail made everything run smoothly. Our guide Richard is also such a knowledgeable and passionate guide. His insights and enthusiasm made every moment of the safari special, and we felt completely taken care of throughout the journey. You both played a huge part in making this trip unforgettable, and I’m truly grateful for the experience!

I requested quotations from 5 tour operators and got their standard packages back. We wanted a customised, private tour and Robert, the owner, was very accommodating. Emails were going back and forth, with our requests and then his recommendations following. I was, at one stage apologising to him, because I felt very demanding. Robert came up with the goods and very soon I did not bother to discuss tour options with other operators, as I felt he was very honest in his replies and we soon struck a deal. At the end of the day, his quote was the best value for money. Our guide, Peter, became a friend, from picking us up at the airport, to dropping us off 9 days later. He was punctual, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Kenya's roads and traffic was much worse, compared to what we are used to, but he negotiated all situations like a pro. If ever I can afford to go to Kenya again, I will not hesitate to (only) contact Robert, from Beacon Safaris and insist that we want Peter to be our guide again!
