Simien Mountains National Park
Early morning we drive along a good paved road from Gondar to the park headquarters in Debark, the 100 km journey will take around two to three hours. At the headquarters we will arrange our permits to the park and pick up our scout. After that we will drive for another hour before we will start our first day introductory walk. This first hike is an easy one along the northern edge of the escarpment with a nice view points over the foothills and plains of northern Ethiopia. You will encounter gelada baboon along this hike.

We follow the northern escarpment eastward, before we descend a little into the Kaba Valley. After that we climb up before we reach Gich Abyss and continue over a narrow ridge to a cliff where we have a spectacular view of the abyss towards the Simien foothills. We also find a large waterfall here, where the Jinbahir River plunges 500 m into the abyss. Having finished enjoying and taking pictures around the fall, we will walk back to Sankaber through the other way round enjoying with the great wazla River valley landscapes and villages towards to south direction of the path where I born and grow up. Then we will drive back to Gondar, if you still need to have more walk we can stop in between and possible to do it. Then drive back to Gondar. Or Axum

4.00All the personnel supporting this trip were outstanding in their friendliness, knowledge and attentiveness. However the road to the mountains is very bad. It would have been good for Viator to state the vehicle used and provide the option of a 4WD. If it had rained a 4WD would have been essential for safety and comfort.

Everything was carefully planned and spot on. they always go the extra mile to show you the city - even accompanied me to a fabric shop in the city center for me to take some back home. You can trust simien tour and travel, they'll make sure you have an amazing trip!

5.00My wife & I spent full day sightseeing around Lalibela with team.Lalibela was great. I did not expect to be so impressed by the rock carved church complex,but it was genuinely amazing,the food was tasty,very friendly guide.It was well organized tour.Thanks!! We will come next time.
