Guided by the Head Distiller, craft and distil your very own 70cl bottle of Scottish Gin.

Using premium organic alcohol and botanicals from around the world, including the flavourful Macedonian Juniper, you’ll create a traditional gin recipe before going on to choose from over 100 different botanicals to make a unique gin, designed by you.

Discover how Aberdeen Gin is authentically distilled in the heart of the city.

Enjoy drinks throughout and taste samples of true small batch artisan gin – both London Dry and Fruit Gins.

Finally, choose the strength of your gin. Bottle your gin. Now the tough part…naming your gin.

The event concludes with a surprise cocktail to celebrate you have become an Aberdeen Distiller!

What To Expect

Become a Distiller and create your very own Scottish Gin in this 2 hour experience! Starting with a double G&T welcome drink and uncover Aberdeen's rich distilling heritage and the origins of gin. Learn about the base gin botanicals and the premium organic alcohol. Following on from a short introduction to the botanicals available, choose from over 100 botanicals and distil your perfect bottle of gin using a beautiful copper alembic mini-still. The group is led by the Head Distiller who is on hand to help you select the ideal botanicals and quantities for your unique gin recipe. While you wait for your gin to distil, enjoy samples from the range of Aberdeen Gins. You'll be introduced to the background of each gin as well as the ingredients used - find out how each gin is unique and how they are authentically distilled in Aberdeen. Sip a G&T made to order based on your preferred sample. Finally, decide the strength, bottle, cap and label your own full sized 70cl bottle of gin - you’ll need a name for it too! Celebrate becoming a distiller with a surprise cocktail.

What a great way to spend an afternoon! Alan and Dan were great hosts. The experience was very interesting and obviously the gin was superb ... don't be driving!

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time at the City of Aberdeen Distillery Gin School — it was such a fun, hands-on, and genuinely memorable experience. Dan and Alan were brilliant hosts: friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They created a relaxed and welcoming environment while guiding us through the gin-making process with just the right balance of fun and detail. Lyla really enjoyed choosing all of her botanicals and crafting a flavour profile that was totally her own, while I was fascinated by the technical side of distilling and loved getting hands-on with the equipment — especially when it came to bottling our own creations! Lads, we will be back, very soon. We left with two completely unique gins, some new knowledge, and big smiles on our faces. Couldn’t recommend it more — it’s an ideal day out whether you’re a gin enthusiast or just looking for something a bit different to do in Aberdeen.

A superb experience! Alan and David were fantastic hosts - entertaining, knowledgable and super friendly. You learn all about the gin making process, the history, ingredients etc. A hundred or more botanicals to sample and use in your own gin. You use your own little still, weigh your choice of botanicals and bottle and label your gin. There were lots of gin and tonics provided and samples of all the gins they make. Thoroughly recommend!

We found ourselves in Aberdeen on a cold and rainy day so our plans to stroll around town were a bit foiled. We decided to check out the distillery and as luck would have it we stumbled in just before a gin making class was about to start. I was a little leery about the price but I’m glad that didn’t stop me - it was WELL worth it. Alan and Dan are personable, hospitable, funny and knowledgeable. The three hour class moved quickly and efficiently and it seemed like we were never not sipping some of their awesome gin. We got to pick out our own flavors for the gin we were to make, and then watch our little personal still create it. It was all lots of fun and we wound up leaving with our own bottles of gin. Thanks Alan and Dan for an awesome experience!

We had an amazing time. We learned a great deal about gin from Allan and Don, and we even got to make our own gin from scratch with assistance from Allan and Don. They had over 100 botanicals from which to choose and the owners assisted with how flavors might mix. A great way to spend the day.

Hands Down my husband and I had the best time. First of all the gin they make is amazing. I didn't know much about gin but I came out of the experience feeling like I know quite a bit! With the owners guidance they helped us make our own gin and it turned out awesome! Such a fun and unique experience by far the best thing we did in Aberdeen!

The Gin School Experience from start to finish was more than expected. Firstly Dan and Alan greeted everyone as they came in. Dan made everyone a lovely gin and remembered I preferred lemonade to tonic when I visited earlier in May for the gin tasting. Alan then began his history lesson. It was so informative about how their venture started, Aberdeen distilleries from the past and much much more. The actual experience of making your own gin was so good from the start to the finishing product. If you stay in the city or shire or are a visitor to Aberdeen I would recommend the gin experience!
