What To Expect
Maalaea
Mā‘alaea is a centuries-old Hawaiian fishing village—once home to a prominent heiau and one of the island’s largest collections of petroglyphs—whose canoe landing served as a portal to Maui for Hawaiian kings and warriors.
Check in at The Historic Maalaea General Store, Built in 1910. It was constructed by the Maui Dry goods and Grocery Company to serve the local fishing community and employees of the Wailuku Sugar Company. The store is the oldest surviving wood-frame building associated with the Japanese fishing community that developed in Maalaea Village.

5.00I had an absolutely unforgettable experience on a private sunset cruise in Maui- it was easily the highlight of my trip. The captain and crew were incredibly warm and welcoming, making the entire evening feel special from start to finish. We were lucky enough to see whales all around us, which made it even more magical. I already can’t wait to come back, and I’ll definitely be booking with Hawaii Nautical again for my future Maui adventures.

5.00We booked this trip via the Westin. We were looking for something more calm and sedate than a party boat with 50 strangers! We shared the cruise with one other couple and it was a lovely experience, getting out on the water and watching the sun slip below the horizon. We got to see some of those party boats, and it just reinforced the choice we made. The crew was awesome, making sure we were comfortable and well cared for, but also sharing tips and history of the area. If you are looking for a relaxing sunset cruise, this is the place.

5.00We LOVED our experience, it was everything we hoped for. John and Walker were excellent. They were so engaging with us and our son with autism, who can take some time to warm up. We chose this boat because it was for small groups, large groups overwhelm our son. It was perfect! We had the most amazing view of the sunset and relaxed the evening away. Our sons favorite part was fishing with Walker and going fast! We really had a great time. This felt very personal unlike other tours where you are just one of many. HIGHLY recommend!!! Thanks guys!

4.00We booked a second trip with Hawaii Nautical this past week in Maui. This trip was a sunset cruise. The sunset was amazing with individualized attention from the crew. It was a bit windy and chilly so make sure to bring a jacket or sweatshirt. Mostly, we idled or drifted so this is not a fast moving trip. This cruise is definitely for those who enjoy the boating experience, not the party experience. The sunset views of the coast of Maui and neighboring islands were beautiful. Worth the trip!! Make sure you bring those appetizers and cocktails as they a not provided but soda/water is available.

5.00It’s hard to pick out a single “best” experience in Maui, because it’s such a special place. But if I had to pick one, it would be this cruise. This was truly one of the best vacation experiences we’ve ever had from start to finish. We were lucky enough to be captained by Spencer and Ben, whose knowledge and expertise were only matched by their charisma. They were beyond accommodating, navigating us through a whirlwind of amazing views during our time and ensuring we had the most special experience possible. I wish I could give this more than 5 stars, because it’s what it deserves. If you’re looking for a single nautical adventure in Maui to make your vacation the best it can be, this is the one!!

5.00The team was so sweet and accommodating, loved them. The views were beautiful and the intimacy of the boat made the experience so much better. We even got to see a view whales and of course a beautiful sunset. 10/10 would recommend can’t wait to come back and see them again
