What To Expect
Nishi Honganji Square
The temple near Ximending which was completed in the early 1900s, was a branch temple established in Taiwan by the Nishi Honggan-ji in Kyoto. Later it was damaged in a fire, and was partially renovated in 2006. Now you can see the renovated bell tower.
Ximen Red House - Ximending
During the Japanese colonial period, Ximen Honglou was originally an indoor market called "Ximen Market." In the post-war era, the Octagon building was used as a performing arts venue. Today, the building is designated as a historical site by the city and serves as a cultural and creative space for exhibitions and performances.

5.00Thank you to Vicky for our amazing tour of Ximending and for the informative historical insights about Taipei! She was so accommodating to our schedule as we slightly overbooked. Overall, she walked my mom and I through the history of how Ximending came about and it was very interesting to know and see how things developed. As an architect in the US, I could really appreciate everything Vicky shared with me about Taiwan's architecture and seeing how things developed. If you're into getting a snippet of Taiwan's urban development, I would highly recommend taking this tour!

4.00before you buy anything can compare between shops after 11pm there is a lot of push cart that sell cheaper stuff compare to the shop there a lot of traditional food after 11pm sales personall are vert friendly and polite the cinema is fabulous also there is lots of nice store right behind the walking area one super big uniqlo store starbucks KFC as well best hotel to stay is VIA Hotel if budget allows west gate is a real good choice too
