Redwoods Altitude is designed to showcase even more of the spectacular Redwoods Forest. From 25 metres up, you will be guided on an exhilarating journey along 25 Indiana Jones style jungle bridges!
Using a continuous safety system, our professional guides will lead you around the 650 metre loop, ensuring your safety and comfort.
Join us as we share local knowledge and stories about the Redwood Forest history, native flora and fauna and Māori legends.
Please allow 2-hours for the entire Altitude experience.
Plus, entry to our new Redwoods Altitude eco-cave.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Participants should be tall enough to reach 180 cm at the crease of their wrist on the measuring chart.
Youths aged 13-15 years can participate without adult supervision, but a guardian must complete the disclaimer on their behalf.
Children aged 10-12 years must be actively supervised by a responsible person 16 years and older.
Long hair and loose items must be secured.
Closed toe footwear only.
No smoking, eating or drinking.
If a participant shows signs of intoxication, they will not be allowed on the tour.
All participants must be able to understand and follow instructions.
All participants to wear appropriate clothing for weather i.e. rain jacket for wet days, warm jacket for cold days.
Participants must be between 30 kg and 120 kg.
Must be in good health, without high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, dizziness or other conditions that may be aggravated by the adventure.

What To Expect
Redwoods, Whakarewarewa Forest
Altitude guests will enjoy a 2-hour guided adventure in Rotorua's Redwoods forest. Starting at the Altitude hanger, you'll gear up and take a short walk to the training area, where guides will brief you on equipment use. Then, you’ll embark on a journey along jungle bridges and zip lines, safely connected to a continuous safety system. The adventure ends with an optional controlled descent, followed by a walk back to the hanger. Next to the Treewalk is where our new Redwoods Glowworms eco-cave is located. This experience is fully guided and takes approx. 10 mins to complete.

No personal equipment is allowed i.e. harnesses, carabiners etc.

5.00A truly wonderful and memorable experience. Being up high amongst the Redwoods was incredible and the getting there was challenging yet rewarding. The 3 guides Jess, Eden and Dani were brilliant- they were professional, patient and encouraging. I felt safe with them. The 4 zip lines , the rope bridges and the “ drop” at the end were exciting and heart pumping. The adrenaline was high and the fabulous feeling of achievement was something I will never forget. Well worth every cent.

Their calm and relaxed demeanor meant they both were able to professionally support and encourage all on the trip to push themselves through their extreme fears to get the ultimate adventure from this tree top walk. 5.00It was the second time we've done the Redwoods Altitude and it didn't disappoint. Jordan and T were professional, efficient and friendly guides that made the experience more fun and relaxed. It's an amazing place up in the heights of the forest, navigating the various rope bridges and zip lines. There is a semi-controlled descent option at the end called 'Quick Flight' which is well worth doing if you have the nerve. The experience lasts around 2 to 2.5 hours and cost $145 per person. There were 10 in our group plus the two guides.

5.00There's a couple of things I didn't expect to happen today. I didn't expect this to be so confronting, and I certainly didn't expect to concur my fear of heights I've had since I was 12...now 62. If only I'd known, a day in the Redwoods would fix this, I would have come sooner! Jordan and Megan..what a couple of great humans. So supportive, so professional and just super nice young adults. Would I recommend this? In a heart beat!! Would I do it again! Tomorrow!
