Redwoods Altitude is designed to showcase even more of the spectacular Redwoods Forest. From 25 metres up, you will be guided on an exhilarating journey along 25 Indiana Jones style jungle bridges!
Using a continuous safety system, our professional guides will lead you around the 650 metre loop, ensuring your safety and comfort.
Join us as we share local knowledge and stories about the Redwood Forest history, native flora and fauna and Māori legends.
Please allow 2-hours for the entire Altitude experience.
Plus, entry to our new Redwoods Altitude eco-cave.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Participants should be tall enough to reach 180 cm at the crease of their wrist on the measuring chart.
Youths aged 13-15 years can participate without adult supervision, but a guardian must complete the disclaimer on their behalf.
Children aged 10-12 years must be actively supervised by a responsible person 16 years and older.
Long hair and loose items must be secured.
Closed toe footwear only.
No smoking, eating or drinking.
If a participant shows signs of intoxication, they will not be allowed on the tour.
All participants must be able to understand and follow instructions.
All participants to wear appropriate clothing for weather i.e. rain jacket for wet days, warm jacket for cold days.
Participants must be between 30 kg and 120 kg.
Must be in good health, without high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, dizziness or other conditions that may be aggravated by the adventure.

What To Expect
Redwoods, Whakarewarewa Forest
Altitude guests will enjoy a 2-hour guided adventure in Rotorua's Redwoods forest. Starting at the Altitude hanger, you'll gear up and take a short walk to the training area, where guides will brief you on equipment use. Then, you’ll embark on a journey along jungle bridges and zip lines, safely connected to a continuous safety system. The adventure ends with an optional controlled descent, followed by a walk back to the hanger. Next to the Treewalk is where our new Redwoods Glowworms eco-cave is located. This experience is fully guided and takes approx. 10 mins to complete.

5.00This is not something I would usually do when I signed up for it. Somehow, I wasn’t really thinking about what it entailed. And when I realized what it entailed, I decided to do it do it anyway .It was little bit scary walking on those bridges, but I had the most amazing guides, Jordan and Meg. They kept me calm and we’re extremely encouraging. I am so glad that I did this.

5.00A great way to appreciate this well preserved redwood forest. A passel of hanging bridges of every shape and kind. The zip lines were fun, and the final step off experience was unique. Hook up to a speed break, take one step forward, and drop to the ground like a paratrooper who knows what they're doing.

5.00I attended Redwoods Forest the day before for the tree walk and glow worm caves, Jordan was working on the caves this day and took a few moments to chat with me. I expressed that I was scared of heights but he assured me that the altitude activity was really fun and many people with a fear of heights would do it so I decided to book on for the following day. Meg and Jordan were our guides and they made it so much fun, despite feeling pretty nervous to begin with I had such a good time and I’m so glad I did it. They were both really personable and friendly and I had a lovely group doing it alongside me. Absolutely chuffed I went through with it and would likely do it again!

5.00It was my first time doing the zip lining thing. But Megan and Eden were absolutely amazing and explained everything in detail and were there at every step to look out for us. I would say that it couldn’t have been better than this. Definitely an experience I would remember my entire life. Eden even gave us all chocolates in the end:) very sweet gal!!
