  Amazing temple and colorful towers- Unfortunately when we went there was scaffolding for repainting but one can get an idea of how beautiful the towers are Inner sanctum darshan is a must as well

  This tour was awful. No communication before the tour. Guide was not at the meeting point at the agreed time. Had to contact the guide via Trip Advisor customer service. The local guide rescheduled a "spiritual tour" for a time when the temple was closed. Huh??? The guide wandered aimlessly around the streets stopping seemingly at random to tell us something. No substantive sharing of information about the Meenakshi Temple. The guide's main mission was to get to the end of his increasingly random meanderings around closed temples as quickly as possible. The tour finished over an hour ahead of time...because the temples were all closed. His other motivation seemed to be to take us to merchants and traders - one trader quietly told us to come back later because the guide would return later demanding commission for anything we bought. The guide was angry when we suggested he did not deserve a tip. We tipped him out of concerns for our safety if he was to get any more angry. Do yourself a favour and avoid this tour like the plague.

  Prakash the guide was absolutely superb. Very knowledgable and patient. He wasn’t pushy. Right balance of pace and explanation. Highly recommended.

  I was very lucky to to have Professor Dr Balasubramanian as my guide. He explained the spiritual life in India and illustrated his explanation by taking me to several temples. We enjoyed some local snacks and coconut milk on the way. We were able to talk about many aspects of life in India and its culture. I can thoroughly recommend this tour.

  Accidentally booked the wrong date, but was able to quickly get in touch with tour company and they arranged a guide for that same evening to go through the temple complex with us. Lots of knowledge and interesting information, absolutely recommended
