Temple of Olympian Zeus
The construction of the Temple of Zeus began in the 6th century BC during the rule of the Athenian tyrants, but it was not completed until the 2nd century AD by the Roman Emperor Hadrian. The long construction period is due to various historical events, including the political changes in Athens. The temple was built to honor Zeus, the chief deity in the Greek pantheon. It housed a massive statue of Zeus made of gold and ivory by the renowned sculptor Phidias.

5.00Dimitrios was an awesome tour guide and driver. He was punctual and had great communication with us, explaining all the details. We really enjoyed our short two hour tour that highlighted all the important Athens sights. It fit perfectly into our cruise schedule. We would definitely recommend this tour! 5.00This tour was more than sightseeing - it felt like stepping into history. Walking through the ruins while hearing about the myths of Athena, poseidon, and democracy itself gave me goosebumps. I've been on a lot of tours in Europe, but this one really stood out of how personal it felt. It's a short tour, but you walk away with a deep appreciation for Athens and its culture.

5.00It is the first time for me I did something like this at Athens. I was very satisfied from the service. The driver was well versed on all aspects of the city and well informed on both historical and contemporary subjects. The car was very comfortable and clean and the ride was a 10/10 if you exclude the occasional traffic we encountered. I would recommend it 100%
