Sabarmati Riverfront

Gondal

Day 07. >Today you drive to Gondal, but visit Junagarh on the way. Along the way, visit Junagarh Fortress, Bibi ka Makbara and Buddhist caves from Ashoka's time. Many of the buildings have ES mixed Hindu, Muslim and European architecture. Then drive from Junagarh to Gondal. Gondal is full of old palaces from the 17th century. You will visit the City Palace (Navlakha Palace overlooking the river). This imposing building, over 30 meters high, is one of the oldest and most beautiful in Gondal. You will also stay in a former palace, now converted into a hotel. You will visit an Ayurvedic company and see the collection of Ravi paintings, just like vintage cars. Bhuj

After breakfast, drive to Bhuj. When you arrive DA, visit the Textile Museum of Kutch in Bhuj. Afterwards you will drive to the hotel, which is located on the shore of the lake. Mandvi

After breakfast drive to Mandvi and visit a Jain temple before Mandvi. Afterwards you can drive to Vijay Vilas Palace and visit it. Maharao Lakhpatji commissioned the palace in 1750. The museum is a royal showcase for clutch jewellery, weapons and art. Eiana Mahal has an excellent collection of antiques. ES is worth visiting and learning about the history of Kutch.

Great Rann of Kutch

Today you will visit the northern and southern parts of the villages in Kutch. The villages are like open-air museums where different families of different clans live and sell the goods. You will see the art of families and walk through the village. In the southern part of the villages live Meghwal families who make great embroidery about the fabrics. See the typical group of houses. Then drive to the Great Rann of Kutch Dholawira (white desert and one of the most beautiful roads in the country of India). DA you see the excavations of the Indus civilization. Little Rann of Kutch

Today you will drive to Bajana, an eco-friendly village, and stay at the Royal Safari Camp Bajana. ES is located near the village of Dasada, a few minutes drive from the entrance of the Little Rann of Kutch (Wild Donkey Resarvat). You can relax and have lunch (including today). In the late afternoon, drive to the Kutch Wild Donkey Reserve. You will also observe many bird species. Lunch, dinner, breakfast and overnight at the hotel.

Sidhpur

Afterwards we continue our journey to Modhera Sonnen Temple where we can admire the Sun Temple. ES is one of the finest examples of 11th century Indian temple architecture. Then we drive to Patan, where we visit the 11th century stepped fountain (Rani Ki Vav). ES is a rich and ornate monument erected by Queen Udaymati in memory of her husband Bheema I.
