What To Expect
Hualien City
サクルトレイル、歴史文献や口承によると、昔、この辺りには台湾ハンノキの木がたくさん生えていて、地元では「台湾ハンノキの足」と呼ばれていました。アミ族は「サクル」と呼んでいました。日本統治時代に地名が制定された際、この地域は「さくら」と改名されました。2007年に地元住民が正式に「サキラヤ族」と名付けた後、部族の人々は「サクル」と名付けることにしました。 「サクルトレイル」は、自然生態学的手法で作られた郊外のトレイルで、あらゆる年齢の人に適しています。全長は約1.35キロメートルで、歩くのに約40〜60分かかります。トレイルヘッドに入ると、個人の体力に応じて左または右の道を選択できます。右の道の方が歩きやすく、急な上り坂や階段が少ないため、お勧めです。

嘉民村はタロコ族の部落で、素直で楽天的な性格で知られ、農業と狩猟で生計を立て、山々と調和して暮らし、生まれたときから強健な身体に恵まれています。独特の地理的環境により、村は緑の山々と澄んだ水の美しさを誇っています。村人は四季を通じて狩猟や採集を楽しみ、集まってお酒を飲んだり会話をしたりしています。彼らは先祖から伝統的な織物、竹、籐、木、石の彫刻などの伝統的な工芸技術や、リュックサックや椅子などの文化財を受け継いでいます。村の主な農産物は山のシダです。

5.00We had a really wonderful day with our guide Allen. Even though parts of the Taroko Gorge are currently not accessible, the visit was still absolutely worth it and one of the most spectacular experiences of our Taiwan trip. The scenery is simply breathtaking, with huge marble cliffs, rivers and nature everywhere. Allen shared many interesting stories about the region and made the whole tour very enjoyable and relaxed. We also visited a beautiful beach and walked along a peaceful forest trail, which made the day even more special. We can highly recommend this tour!

4.00Overall a great tour with a very experienced local guide. Allan shared a lot about the taiwanese history with us while driving us to the different hot spots which we appreciated a lot. It was a nice suprise that it was only the two of us so we had a private tour. One of my personal highlights was our lunch at a typical Taroko aboriginal restaurant. If I have one thing to criticize it‘s that we‘d have loved a bit more time in the Taroko Nationalpark because we had to rush that part a bit between photo sessions and hikes. But it‘s not easy since there is a stricts time schedule drivers need to respect for entering and leaving Taroko. Overall I would recommend this tour!

5.00Had a wonderful day in Hualien/Taroko with tour guide Allen! He crafted a well-balanced itinerary that provided time on our own, a bit of hiking, a delicious meal, and a visit to a gorgeous temple. I appreciated his calm, confident, and prepared style - we were in very capable hands. He very sweetly answered a lot of our questions about the rest of our trip and helped book us a tour for another day and sent us a bunch of great-looking restaurant recommendations! We were so pleased to have spent the day with Allen!

5.00Allen’s tour took us on a wonderful journey all over Hualien! We got to hike, see waterfalls, monkeys, temples, the ocean, and experienced a cool drive through the national park. Allen has a great amount of knowledge of the history of Taiwan and of the area- we learned so much! His English was also quite good. We felt safe and had a great time!

5.00Allen picked me up in front of my accommodation and immediately impressed me with his deep knowledge of Taiwan and the particular area. He knew exactly how long it would take to get places, how long to stay in areas, and allowed me to see more than I would ever have been able to do so on my own. He balanced our day with driving and explanations, with allowed some solo time to explore the areas. Extremely happy with the decision to book the Taroko Gorge Tour with Allen!

From the very beginning, it was clear that Allen is a wonderful guide, incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. His knowledge of history, local facts, culture, and the natural environment completely amazed us. Every explanation was clear, engaging, and full of interesting details, and thanks to him everything we saw along the way made perfect sense. He didn’t just show us the sights, he helped us understand them, bringing the places to life with stories and context that made the experience so much richer. The itinerary was perfectly planned, covering all the main points of interest in the Hualien area, including the stunning Taroko Gorge, while still feeling relaxed and enjoyable. The tour truly had a bit of everything: breathtaking scenery, fascinating history, hidden spots, and plenty of memorable moments. It never felt rushed, and Allen always made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. On top of all that, Allen is extremely friendly, kind, and funny. 5.00Allen picked me up and then explained the itinerary clearly to me. In a one day tour I've been able to get a good impression of Hualien. Although many people come to see Taroko National Park, what stuck out to me the most was the scenery and the local life in Hualien. It also offers a very interesting history of the natives, which Allen can explain to you in detail. If you are looking for a different and unique experience in Taiwan then I definitely recommend this tour!
