5.00Rie was a great tour guide. She explained lots of cool details about the castle and took many photos of our family. We really got a lot out of this tour and would recommend it to others who are interested in learning more about this castle. Her tour made visiting this gorgeous site much more interesting than it would have been with just an audio tour and guide book.

5.00If you are going to visit one castle in Japan then Himeji Castle is highly recommended. We stopped off for a guided tour on our journey from Hiroshima to Osaka. Our guide Ryuji helped us explore the castle and understand the way of the Samurai. Ryuji was very informative explaining the history of the castle and its secrets while keeping it light hearted and entertaining. A really enjoyable tour.

Pointed out little things I would have never seen on my own, and was just great to talk to in general. had a great time and would highly recommend. 5.00We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the castle, grounds…and the added garden! Ryuji was fantastic and helped make the history and culture come alive, while also adding personal touches about himself, his work, and his hometown. Most impressive was Ryuji’s dedication to his craft through teaching and storytelling. Not only did he end the tour by asking what he could have done better (nothing!), but he also offered to extend our tour to “practice” and get feedback for his tour of the gardens. What a wonderful time…don’t miss the experience he’s prepared.
