Given by indigenous guides, and provides access and insight that is not available to some of the larger tours. They were able to modify our tour from an enclosed to an open vehicle at the last minute.

Our guide Aaron with Tinhorn Tours was Incredible! Very engaging, knowledgeable about the valley. We took the "backcountry" tour and saw things many can't see on the self guided tours. Would do it again. Thanks Aaron!

Be sure to know the name of your specific tour provider. Your general Viator ticket does not provide enough information to those at the turquoise booth. They sent us to a different location. No one was there. We searched our reservation further and at the END of ALL of the information we found the name of the specific tour company. We were at the correct location when we were at the turquoise booth. No apology was offered for sending us away and our tour started ten minutes late. We had booked a Jeep tour for two. Monument Valley Tinhorn Tours did not provide a Jeep. We simply had one of their large trucks to ourselves. That was disappointing. Our guide, Herbert, gave us basic information about the monuments and was willing to answer any of our questions. We had to ask the questions, extra information was not offered. I am 68 years and not as steady, or flexible, as I would like to be. I was not offered any extra assistance in getting in and out of the truck. My husband helped me down each time. If I had not been traveling with a companion, getting in and off the truck would have been very difficult. Our tour ended fifteen minutes early. We accept responsibility for that. There were only two of us, and we didn’t linger at any of the stopping points taking a lot of pictures or shopping. Monument Valley is beautiful and our tour provider was polite. Being dismissed, and in essence being told to move along, at the beginning of the tour was frustrating. Not having a Jeep tour was very disappointing. The lack of accommodation for a guest who needed assistance getting on and off the truck was disheartening. Proceed with caution when using Monument Valley Tinhorn Tours.

We had a 2.5 hour tour with Larry from Tin Horn Navajo tours. It was awesome. Larry was very knowledgable and accommodating. He provided us history of the monuments, their names, and movie rights at different locations. In the backcountry we spoke with Native basket weaver and she shared her lore and family history. We saw out of the way arches and the most gorgeous views. Would definitely recommend

Quite disappointing; the experience itself is very pleasant, I still recommend a jeep tour because the road is very rough but not with this tour. As kind as they were to wait for us 10 min, everything else was disappointing: the tour lasted 1h and a half poor, they did not show us everything that was planned in the itinerary; the guide, for when kind and polite, did not seem very involved and enthusiastic. I absolutely do not recommend it, look for another tour operator!!!

Jeep tour top with an adorable guide who shared his life and beliefs. Complicated road sabs 4X4 and accessible places only with a guide.

Monument Valley is beyond stunning. We were very happy to have booked a tour vs. driving the 17-mile loop ourselves as we got to relax a lot more and were able to go to places you can’t go self-driving. While our guide pointed out various sites, he lacked enthusiasm and was really not that engaged. At the end, I was also taken aback by his announcement that “I expect a tip” vs. saying tips are appreciated. We tipped well as we always do but this was both rude and assuming - not a great way to end the trip.

The ride is very rough. I was holding on the complete trip. I lost my hat. The scenery was unbelievable.

We were 10 min late and the driver waited for us. Super nice guy and very pleasant . The tour was just long enough and you get to see a lot more than if you just drove yourself plus you are supporting the local economy

Herbert was a great guide. He was really informative, courteous and fun to be with. I would recommend tinhorn guide services.
