Experience the raw beauty of thundering waterfalls, black sand beaches, and the otherworldly Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. With a knowledgeable guide at the wheel and a small group for a more intimate experience, you'll uncover hidden gems and dramatic landscapes along the way. This immersive tour blends comfort, adventure, and Iceland’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders into one unforgettable escape.

What to bring: Warm outdoor clothing, a waterproof jacket and pants, head wear, and gloves. Good hiking shoes are recommended.

This tour has the flexibility to make the most of the seasonal changes such as changes in weather and conditions. During the summer Iceland is characterized by energizing bright nights and midnight sun. Between August and May, if the forecast is suitable, you might even be able to spot the magical show put on by the Northern Lights. It is important to note that a guided Northern Lights hunt is however not included in the tour. Other wonderful and interesting possibilities can also come up during your south coast tour with us as Iceland is full of surprises.
We use a couple of different ice caves for our 3 Day Golden Circle & South Coast tour. Ice caves are ever-changing and unpredictable natural phenomena. We usually visit the Crystal Cave at Breiðmerkurjökull during this tour but when the Crystal Cave is inaccessible we will most likely visit Katla Ice Cave. Which ice cave is chosen will however always depend upon the conditions and safety considerations on the day, sometimes a different ice cave will be visited. If conditions do not allow us to visit an ice cave a glacier hike will be offered as an alternative.
Solo travelers who do not select the single supplement will be accommodated in a shared twin room with another participant of the same gender.

Thingvellir
Explore Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can walk between the diverging North American and Eurasian tectonic plates beneath towering cliffs. This remarkable site is also home to the world’s oldest still-functioning parliament, established in 930 CE, offering a powerful blend of natural wonder and historic significance.
Geysir
Next, explore the Geysir Geothermal Area, the namesake of all geysers. While the original Geysir is now dormant, nearby Strokkur puts on a spectacular show, erupting every few minutes and shooting boiling water up to 25 meters into the air. This geothermal hotspot is a true highlight of Iceland’s volcanic landscape.
Gullfoss Falls
Finally, visit Gullfoss—“the Golden Falls”—one of Iceland’s most iconic and beloved waterfalls. Here, the mighty Hvítá River plunges in two dramatic stages into a rugged canyon, creating a thunderous roar and a mist that often catches the sunlight in golden hues. It's a breathtaking display of nature’s raw power and beauty.
Kirkjubaejarklaustur
After exploring the Golden Circle, you'll travel south to your hotel near the quaint town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. This peaceful location is an ideal spot to look out for the mesmerizing Northern Lights—if the skies are clear and luck is on your side. Be sure to keep watch; you might just catch nature’s most magical light show.
Your accommodation for the night will be at the same hotel – Adventure Hotel Geirland.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast
Glacier Lagoon
In the morning, you’ll head east to the stunning Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and the nearby Diamond Beach. At the lagoon, icebergs of all shapes and sizes drift gracefully toward the Atlantic Ocean, creating a surreal and ever-changing landscape. Their striking colors—ranging from deep blue to crystal white—are the result of compressed glacial ice and natural light refraction.
Fellsfjara
At Diamond Beach, you'll see icebergs that have washed ashore, sparkling like diamonds against the black volcanic sand. As sunlight hits the ice, it creates a dazzling display of bright blue tones that make for an unforgettable walk along the coast. Keep an eye out for ocean birds—and with a bit of luck, you might even spot a curious seal playing in the waves.
Skaftafell National Park
From Jökulsárlón, head to Skaftafell Nature Reserve for a glacier hike led by a certified guide on Vatnajökull Glacier. Then, explore a natural ice cave, where you can photograph the stunning blue light filtering through the ice. Your guide will explain how these formations are created. The cave visited depends on conditions, with about two hours spent on the glacier and cave combined. This tour suits those comfortable walking on easy terrain. Remember to dress warmly, as temperatures inside the cave are well below freezing.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast
Fjadrargljufur Canyon
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll begin a relaxed drive back toward Reykjavik with several stops along the way. If road conditions allow, the day starts with a quick detour to the stunning Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon.
Eldhraun Lava Field
You’ll first explore the iconic Eldhraun lava field, a vast and dramatic landscape formed by ancient volcanic eruptions. Then, continue on to the striking Reynisfjara black sand beach, known for its powerful waves and basalt columns.
Reynisfjara Beach
The powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean crash dramatically onto the black sand beach, creating a stunning and unforgettable sight. Be cautious—these waves can be unpredictable, so always follow your tour guide’s safety instructions.
Skogafoss
Skógafoss is a stunning waterfall that plunges 60 meters into a peaceful pool below. Climb the 527 steps to the top for breathtaking panoramic views. On clear days, you’ll also catch a glimpse of the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano towering above the falls.

My husband and I had an incredible time and our guide Wendy was fantastic. She accommodated our group and all their preferences and timed the arrivals to each local with precision so that we had minimal traffic from other groups and people. Wendy was very knowledge about the local area and provide great stories and fun facts along the way. Wendy was so pleasant and we would definitely do a tour with her again. The tour itself is incredibly beautiful and hits all the must see spots on the south coast and golden circle.

What a fantastic tour Our guide (Ronan) was super fantastic! He was a pleasure to travel with and made sure to provide us with all information that he to make this tour a success. My wife and I are both trained in science, and it was a joy to talk about the geology and biology of Iceland with Ronan. He has definitely studied beyond the basics for this island. We will definitely visit again, definitely book another multi day tour and definitely ask for Ronan!!!!

It's the perfect, stress-free way to see as much of the Golden Circle in three days. Our guide Thor was excellent, providing us with excellent knowledge of all of the sites we visited as well as lots of other local knowledge. We were a little unlucky with the weather as there was a blizzard forecasted on day three but he made sure we saw everything scheduled within the two days and got us safely back to Reykjavík before the roads were closed. He went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable and safe experience. Because of the blizzard, on the final day the company paid for us all to visit Perlan as we couldn't do our planned activities. I cannot recommend this tour enough! The guides and commitment to the customer experience is excellent :)

We had a wonderful tour! I appreciated the ease of not having to make any decisions or connections from start to finish. Just enjoy! I would recommend to anyone! I was traveling with my husband and two teenage children. Reliable and fast wifi on the bus guaranteed no one got bored between stops. The amount of time at each stop was appropriate and we didn't feel rushed. My son needed medical attention while we were in a more remote area and our guide and others at our accommodation connected us to an on-call doctor and transported us into town. We were able to see the provider and get medication within a couple hours. That was above and beyond and VERY appreciated. I will note our family is not of small stature — we're all between 5'8" and 6'1" with a couple sets of broad shoulders. Bus seats were a LITTLE bit on the narrow side, especially as we rode four across in the rear seat for the duration of the tour. We weren't uncomfortable, but it felt a bit tight.

Amazing trip, we were lucky with amazing weather and managed to do all the activities listed. The planning was great with the guide dropping and picking up at locations so we could make the most of the time and didn't have to backtrack. As a solo traveller, it was also good to be able to share a room so no need for single supplement. Hotel was great, food was quite expensive but that's expected in Iceland. Would have loved to have gone on something longer if I had more time. Caught the northern lights! The guide told us what time there will be activity and as we were out in the countryside, it was good to see them.

I went solo on this tour and there were 9 others. Ronan was the guide and he made the trip fantastic! The roads shut down for extreme wind one day, but despite this Ronan made sure we still got to experience everything on the itinerary and even do local activities the day roads shut down, keeping in mind when to get us inside to avoid the dangerous wind. I learned so much more than I possibly could have learned doing this trip on my own. Not just cultural history but also food and geology. Ronan is a fountain of knowledge. The hotel was great, very clean, kind workers, good food. I cannot imagine having tried to rent a car and drive myself this time of year. There were tons of cars in the ditch due to ice and wind. After this experience, I plan to book a tour with them again in the future!

This 3-day tour exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Ronan, went above and beyond with his attention to detail, time management, and planning. We had a wide range of ages and languages in our small group, with my kids being the youngest (15, 13, and 11-years-old), and he was able to work in a few extra experiences that really kept them engaged. We were extremely grateful, as the kids came away from our trip with the same love of Iceland that the adults developed. The hotel we stayed in outside of Reykjavik was very comfortable, had great dinners and breakfasts, and provided the opportunity for us to see the Northern Lights on one of the clearer nights. A huge thanks to Ronan for his extensive amount of knowledge, humor, kindness, and incredible driving skills. We hope to return during the summer months at some point to see more of this unique and beautiful country.

We had an amazing 3-day tour! There were so many great stops and activities planned out each day, and our amazing guide, Wendy, gave us such interesting information along the way. We had a mix of both snow and sunshine this week, but the weather didn’t stop us at all! Wendy led us on a hike to a waterfall through a snowstorm that was 100% worth it, and we also had some warm sun on our last day at the ice caves and beaches. Wendy was also spot on for telling us when the Northern Lights would appear, and we got some awesome photos and memories of the night sky!! Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour!
