Pingvellir National Park
We visit the place where the two tectonic plates, the North American and the Eurasian plate, are moving away from each other. Few places in the world offer a better and clearer view of this massive geographic activity. The biggest natural lake in Iceland is also located at Thingvellir National Park and hosts a great variety of fish and bird life. Thingvellir is also an important place for Icelandic national history. At Thingvellir Icelanders founded their parliament in 930 a.d. where the chieftains had their annual meeting every summer. The name “Thingvellir” translates to “Parliament Plains”.
Gullfoss
The melting water from Iceland´s second biggest glacier, Langjökull, falls into a deep canyon forming the majestic “Golden Falls”. On a sunny day, you can see the glacier Langjökull in the distance and enjoy a rainbow in the mist of the waterfall, an Instagram blockbuster waiting to happen!
Site de Geysir
The Geysir geothermal area hosts hundreds of colorful hot springs and two geysers, erupting hot springs. One is called “Geysir” and name giving for all the geysers in the world. Today, however, it erupts very seldom. The other geyser is called “Strokkur” and erupts every 5 minutes up to 40 meters.
You will stay at a 3 star hotel with a private bathroom and breakfast included.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast
Included in price is a breakfast buffet at your hotel.
Seljalandsfoss waterfall
The adventure begins when we pick you up in Reykjavík in a small and comfortable minibus before heading straight to the South. Our arrival is announced by the powerful theatrics of Seljalandsfoss. Bring a raincoat and you’ll be able to make the short hike behind the falls. The scene behind the fall and the trembling ground from the power of the falling water makes for an automatic Instagram blockbuster!
Skogafoss
Further east along the coast is Skógafoss waterfall. Skógafoss is an incredibly picturesque sight. Tucked in a little gorge, the river Skógá tumbles down a 60 meter cliff before continuing down the landscape towards the Atlantic Ocean. Alongside the gorge a staircase can take you to the shelf above the waterfall for stunning views. See if you can count your steps on your way up.
Skaftafell National Park
We will hike an outlet glacier spawning from the one of the largest glaciers in the country, Vatnajökull. After meeting our highly trained glacier guides and strapping on our safety and glacier equipment, including helmets, harnesses, crampons and ice axes we hike on the ice for an hour and a half. A spectacular experience and opportunity to learn more about this breathtaking and increasingly rare natural phenomena. Skaftafell area has been used as a filming location for many famous TV shows and films, such as Game of Thrones, Interstellar, James Bond, and others… Follow the steps of your favorite characters into the glacier! The journey continues with the blue ice cave exploration. The exciting hike to reach the cave will take a few minutes – we recommend wearing waterproof hiking boots that cover your ankles and have hard sole. Iceland’s nature is dominated by glaciers and it is only possible to explore them with a certified guide and safety equipment. Your guide will share with you his expertise about the ice caves, allowing you to truly appreciate this amazing natural phenomenon – spoiler alert… it will be blue.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast
Included in price is a breakfast buffet at your hotel.
Glacier Lagoon
Heading off day nr. 3 is Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, a 200m deep glacial lagoon fed by Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Europe’s largest glacier. Enormous icebergs come from Breiðamerkurjökull all year round so the lagoon is usually filled with ice that floats south. Try walking alongside the glacier lagoon enjoying the magnificent views and dead silence of Icelandic nature. Before heading back you will jump on a super jeep and head to a blue ice cave in the glacier.
Fellsfjara
On the other side of the road the icebergs from Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon float into the Atlantic Ocean where they are quickly thrown back to shore by the tide and winds. This black sand beach is full of smaller ice rocks in all shapes and sizes, sparkling like diamonds in the daylight. The ice itself comes in all shades of white and blue forming beautiful contrasts, guaranteed to make your Instagram account pop!
Reynisfjara Beach
Heading further east, we visit the black sand beach of Reynisfjara where the Atlantic coastline presents massive waves hitting the unique basalt columns in the cliffs above the sand. Rock pillars in the water and the cliffs of Dýrhólaey are seen in the distance. This area of the south is also a paradise for bird lovers, as puffins and dozens of other unique species nest on top of these cliffs in the summertime from June to August.

The 3 day Ice Cave tour was incredible. David our tour guide was so knowledgeable and helpful. I can not recommend it enough. The 3 day tour is the best way to see Iceland in a short amount of time.

We had a great time on this tour with Rakel. Our guide planned the schedule very well. She was super friendly, easy to talk to, and made everyone feel comfortable from the beginning. She was also very mindful about safety and always reminded us to be careful at certain spots, which we really appreciated. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the glacier experience was definitely a highlight of the trip. By the way, The group was small — only eight people — so the vehicle was spacious with plenty of room, which made the trip much more comfortable. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would happily recommend this tour.

We caught the bus very early in the morning after New Year’s Eve which was a blast in Reykjavík. From the minute we got into the van we knew we had an excellent tour guide: Bran has a great sense of humour lots of personality and a huge amount of knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed our three days and not just seeing the sites but hanging out with the rest of the tour Group and spending time in the common rooms at the very cozy hotels that we will put up in. Everything was organised extremely well and was very efficiently done with modern equipment. 👏🏼👏🏼 We didn’t really get to see the northern lights, but Bran spotted the very faint one through the clouds that lasted for about three minutes and we all got to get out and get at least a decent photo of it and we did get to experience everything else :) Highly recommended.

We joined your wonderful three-day tour starting on December 26, and I would like to sincerely thank you for the efforts your team made to create such a perfect experience for us. First of all, I would like to thank the support team. They kindly helped us identify a suitable pick-up point closest to our accommodation and ensured that we were collected correctly and on time. Most importantly, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to our guide, Mr. Rocky. His humor and energy made the long bus journeys enjoyable rather than boring, and his ability to adjust the itinerary reasonably and flexibly was truly impressive. In addition, he provided great help by promptly assisting us with loading our heavy luggage into the trunk. Finally, I would like to thank him for noticing that some bags were left on the vehicle after we got off and personally delivering them to our hotel. This level of sincerity and enthusiasm truly reflects what it means to be a dedicated guide. Through him, our very first journey in Iceland allowed us to experience the wonderful qualities of Icelandic people. Thank you again for such a memorable experience.

We saw a lot of amazing things on this tour and our guide worked hard to pack in as many things as possible. There were a couple of not awesome surprises along the way: first, we requested to join a tour with another family we were traveling with, and even though we confirmed it several times with Troll, they almost didn’t pick us up, which would have put us on a different bus from our friends. Our friends were the ones to notice the mistake, not Troll. I think partly because of this mixup, Troll initially booked us into rooms that weren’t adjacent, even though they assured me on a previous phone call that they would be. This was only a challenge because we repacked for the tour, and would have re-allocated gear and clothes differently if we’d known in advance. Lastly, we didn’t learn that the hotels we were staying in on the tour didn’t have a restaurant until about 15 mins before we got there. We were traveling with kids and teens, and would have planned better and brought more groceries if we’d known about the food situation in advance. We were able to get groceries the first night, and the second night our driver took us and the other families on our bus to an open restaurant about 25 mins away. All that said, the hotel stays were clean and fine, the bus was a little cramped but had plenty of space for luggage and gear in the back, and the sights and tour of Iceland were truly amazing. Our kids rolled with the surprises, I just wish there had been fewer of them!

The tour was well planned and organised. The van was comfortable for the long rides. The accommodations were fine, especially the first one. Rakel, our tour guide, was very friendly and energetic. She told us about different places and scenic spots even while she was driving. She also took us to a couple of hidden waterfalls that were not on the itinerary, and took us to the dinner place that she likes. I could feel that she was excited to share the amazing nature of Iceland with us. She took good photos too and she captured lots of beautiful moments of us!

Absolutely awesome experience with our Guide Rakel, she was always helping, explaining and getting out of her way to make our trip truly special. We didn't have the best weather at the start but she was keeping the spirits up! We did a very well tailored tour, the glacier hike, the waterfalls and glacier-lagoon felt out of this world! The accomodation was cosy and we had really good food in the way!

My two sons and I just got back from the 3-Day Ice Cave, South Coast, Golden Circle, and Northern Lights tour with Troll.is, and we had an incredible time. It was the perfect way to see the highlights of Iceland without the stress of driving ourselves in winter conditions. A huge part of why the trip was so successful was our guide, Branimir. He was fantastic—funny, full of energy, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history and geology of the area. He didn't just stick to the script; he took us to all the scheduled stops but also added in a few hidden gems he thought we’d enjoy, which was a special touch. He was also super helpful with practical things, giving us great tips on where to take better photos and recommending excellent local restaurants. The itinerary covers a lot of ground, but we never felt rushed. Doing the Glacier Hike was our favorite highlight of the trip. If you are booking this tour, I highly recommend hoping you get Branimir as your guide. It was a memorable experience for my family!

This tour made the trip worth the entire experience! Rocky was the best tour guide, having the best songs to always keep us hyped, cracking jokes, giving us enlightening information and stories, and driving us around for late night northern lights hunting. The tour itself allowed us to see incredible views and have some insane adventures. 10/10 recommend!
