What To Expect
Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa by bus with a long trek Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai – Ta Van village (L, D) 6.00 – 6.20: Pick up from Hanoi Old Quarter, transfer to the big bus and depart to Sapa Town. 9.30: Follow the highway to Lao Cai city 13.00: Arrive Sapa Town 14.15: A short drive to Y Linh Ho then trek through the rice terraces and along Muong Hoa Trekking distance is about 9 kms and it lasts for 3.5 hours 17.45: Check in homestay. Day 2: Medium trek Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai village (B, L, D) 8.00: Have breakfast prepared by the family. 8.45: A trek through the bamboo forest and stop to have a panorama view of Giang Ta Chai village Trekking distance is about more than 5 kms and it lasts for over 2 hours 11.00: Trek through the Giang Ta Chai Bridge to main road, 12.00: Return Ta Van Village 12.30: Have lunch. Afternoon: Relax at your stay and leisure on your own. Day 3 : Midium trekk to Ta Van Mong- Hang Cung village- Sam 2 village - Lao Chai and return to Ha Noi (B, L) Have breakfast 8:30: Trekking distance is about 6 kms and it lasts for over 2 hours 15:00: Get on bus to go back to Hanoi with two comfort breaks. 21:00 Arrive Ha Noi.

5.00We weren't quite sure what to expect on this trip. As seniors, we found the trekking quite challenging and if aren't a walker or have knee problems, this is not a trip for you. Fortunately we are still in pretty good shape though my wife needed a lot of help on descents and ascents. Su, our guide was excellent and we appreciated her assistance and information she shared. This was an awesome adventure. If you wish to see Sapa, I'd recommend spending extra days there. Note that the bungalos have a fan but no a/c or hearing. Expect a rustic cabin feel. We were fortunate that the temperature was ideal for hiking and sleeping. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. It was a great bargain.

I can honestly say this 3-Day Trekking and 2-Night Stay in Ta Van Village, Sapa, ranks among the very best excursions we have ever had. The scenery in Sapa is absolutely breathtaking—rolling rice terraces, misty mountains, and stunning vistas at every turn. But what made this experience truly special was the cultural immersion. Staying in Ta Van Village allowed us to connect with local Vietnamese in a meaningful and memorable way. Our guide, Su, was phenomenal. She kept our group well-informed, shared deep knowledge about the region and culture, and maintained a perfect trekking pace—steady enough to keep us moving, yet thoughtful in slowing down when needed so no one was left behind. If you can, ask for Su—she is outstanding! The entire experience was incredibly well-rounded: * The trekking itself was both invigorating and rewarding (definitely a workout, so come prepared for some physical activity!) * The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and plentiful * The homestay bungalow accommodations were comfortable, clean, and charming What’s even more impressive is the value—you receive an exceptional, immersive experience at a very reasonable cost. We would do this again without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vietnam. If you’re looking for adventure, cultural connection, and unforgettable views, this is it.

4.00We had an excellent time on our trip with our guide, Chang. The views were incredible and the home stay was super comfortable and in the heart of a local Sapa village. Would highly recommend to anyone! Thank you Chang! The reason for 4 stars is not because of the Sapa experience itself, but because of the transport with the Sapa Explore bus. It was a sleeper bus (which felt unnecessary for a 6 hour drive early in the morning) was old and unclean. I'm not convinced the sheets were clean. The bus driver was also unprofessional and drove fast on bendy uphill roads (to the point that we nearly hit another car on the way back). We were late to Sapa and as result, our first hike was cut short. On the way back, we were dropped in the middle of nowhere in Hanoi at 10 pm (again, this was later than advertised and should have been 9pm). We were then left in a dodgy street with taxi drivers charging x8 the price of a Grab. If you didn't have battery or signal on your phone, you'd be pretty screwed. Please, consider changing bus options because this was a real disappointment! Sapa experience - 5 Star Bus trip (Sapa Explore) - 1 Star

5.00Chang was the best. You really need to ask for her. Very knowledgeable and fun. She was caring and made sure everyone was safe, fed and happy. I’m 70 years old and made it everywhere thanks to her. Chang showed us the mountains, the forest, the villages, and the valley within three days. She explained how the families live and work together. She explained the rice cycle and how all of the plant is used. Also, we learned a great deal about the children and about the animals. The villages work beautifully together. The people are so very kind. What an amazing trio! Thank you Chang.

5.00Wonderful trip to Sapa complete with a lovely home stay. Our tour guide, Chang, was excellent, very knowledgeable and took us on some great hikes which had lovely views overlooking the rice fields and walking through bamboo forests. The walk had steep parts but overall very manageable and we had regular stop offs at some lovely viewpoints where you could get refreshments. Very comfortable home stay and the food was great. Would definitely recommend!
