Yellowstone National Park
Breakfast on own Enjoy a full-day adventure in Yellowstone, the world's first national park! The gifts of nature are vividly displayed here. Home to a super volcano, Yellowstone has more than 10,000 geothermal phenomena and more than 200 waterfalls. The unique ecological environment has given birth to the best giant wild animal habitat in North America.
Norris Geyser Basin
Sightseeing and Moderate Hiking Norris Geyser Basin, named after an early Yellowstone Superintendent, may be the hottest geyser basin in Yellowstone. The stark, barren landscape of Porcelain Basin is the result of the acidic environment. Due to the hostile condition plants, algae and bacteria have difficulty in establishing themselves. Instead, the basin derives its colors from mineral oxides, in spectrums of pink, red, orange (iron oxides) and yellow (sulfur and iron sulfates). The largest geyser in the world is located here. Steamboat Geyser has long periods of dormancy, but when it does erupt it sends jets of water nearly 380 feet high in a spectacular display.
Artist Point
Sightseeing Artist Point is one of the most spectacular scenic areas in the Canyon Area of the Park. The sheer walls drop 700 feet to the bottom of the canyon. Upriver the powerful Lower Falls are still in view. Downriver the canyon widens and deepens to a maximum of 1,540 feet. The canyon walls are predominantly yellow but colors of blue, red, orange and brown are also present. The colors are ever changing and especially intensified after a rain with bright sunshine.

It's a hoax. You hire a tour in English, and you are assured that there will be a maximum of 4 people (I have several conversations with the Viator agents about it), and when the time comes you are put on a bus with 52 Chinese (with a different program) and a Chinese guide to do a bilingual Chinese-English tour. They tell you from Viator that you will be picked up at 6:30, reconfirming you until the last minute but the guide tells you that he will pick you up at 7:40. Finally you leave at 8 and lose 1.5h of being able to see things in Yellowstone. The hotels were the most basic of all. Quite a mess from start to finish. I'll never hire Viator again for any tour.

We both really enjoyed our tour of Yellowstone Park. Our tour guide and driver were amazing. Loved all sights. Since the majority of our tour group were Chinese speakers we joined them for delicious authentic chinese dinners. Accommodations were modest, but clean. Our bus driver gets A+++ The park is huge so your timing at the different stops/views has to be limited, but it does give you enough time to take in the scenery and pictures. This was our first time, and would recommend for all first time visitors.

It was a great trip. Quite well organized. Yang took care of all our needs from hotel pick up to shepherding us to all the geyzers. Our first stop was Jackson hole for lunch -don’t forget to explore the town and buy some hats. Then we headed to Grand Teton where we had first encounter with the bison herd. Rest of the two days he took us to all the important geyzer spots. He took some in incredible pictures of us. We finished our trip at Old Faithful where we even saw an outburst. The hotel was quite good given the amount we paid. It was in West Yellow stone. So this trip is value for money. Be prepared to make long trips on tour days. You will be in good hands if Yang is around you.
