Tanjung Bulat Jungle Camp is far unique from other lodges in kinabatangan is because this jungle camp is totally own and operated by the local people come from the river people tribe. Coming to TBJC means supporting the local community product as well. Beside that TBJC also situated in a very isolated place in Kinabatangan river compare to other lodges, for example, if you go to the other part of kinabatanga river lodges, 1 monkey will be 10-15 boat watching, but in TBJC, 1 monkey only 1 boat, which is US. We also implement NO MASS TOURIST policy in our jungle camp, which means, in a moment we only allowed 10 traveler maximum to come to our simple and basic jungle camp yet special. This is because we want to give such an authentic privilege for our clients. We also, implement our conservation project called rainforest carbon offset project (tree planting), some of your money we get, we will invest it back to environment by buying tropical seedlings from the local community.

- 6:30am go for the morning wildlife watching till 7:30am. Breakfast after morning wildlife watching. - A visit to the gomantong cave after breakfast. - lunch at 12:30pm. By 4:30pm go for afternoon wildlife watching till 6pm. - dinner at 7pm. - 8pm go for night walk till 9pm, here we will see if the trail is okay for night walk. Sometime the fire ants can be so many, so we will switch to night wildlife watching. - overnight at jungle camp.

5.00You have the feeling that you are really in the jungle. away from the crowds and luxury. there are only a few places and no other tour operators so it is exclusive and no crowds. you are also in a side branch of the river extra away from the crowd. we had chosen 4 days with 3 nights to really switch off from a few weeks of traveling and to have a better chance of seeing the orangutan. we were lucky to spot one next to the camp on day 2! Guide Jai was alert and heard it coming and called us. In addition, we saw many crocodiles on both the large river and the side branch where we stayed. proboscis monkeys, many bird species such as hornbills, king fishers and sea eagles and owl. With the night walk saw a mini python. also a jungle chicken. with four days we did an evening cruise on the river, night walk, morning cruises and a long tour on the river both on both waters. the last day we were with two so a private environment without others. really away from civilization what we wanted. we went to caves for bats and also came across an orangutan! Jai gave us a great time and knows a lot and really searches with you for animals and knows how to find and name them. You notice that this is his passion and ambition. Jai is a topper and asset and determines how you can experience a tour. Do not look for luxury but enjoy peace and animals and a unique experience! minimum 2 nights recommended with max 3 nights. No internet and 3 meals a day. Current between 5 and 10. spotting orangutan you have to be lucky and we were! month September with low river water.
