Lunch

1

Landmannalaugar

Today we drive the rough unpaved road to Landmannalaugar, an oasis in the barren highlands, surrounded by vivid rhyolite mountains. The highlight is a 90-minute round-trip hike up toward Brenninsteinsalda, the rainbow mountain of Iceland, which is still “hot” and where you can see sizzling sulfur springs and vapor at its sides. It could very well be the most colorful and spectacular volcanic mountain of Iceland, and so its picture is often found in books and calendars. After a picnic lunch, you have free time to enjoy a relaxing bath in the natural geothermal stream.

2

Hjalparfoss

We take a short stop at the beautiful waterfall Hjálparfoss surrounded by unusual basalt rock formations.

3 days in ICELAND was a beautifully planned program by GJ Travels & AFC holidays Dubai. Magnificent scenery: jaw-droppingly huge waterfalls, mountains and landscapes showcasing Mother Nature’s awe-inspiring vastness. Many, many fabulous experiences - luxurious spa, glaciers & good food all way throughout the journey.we stayed in FOSS HOTELS had excellent breakfast and a bar to enjoy after the day trips. Our Tour Guide - BIRGIR pORRISSON was an encyclopedia of knowledge whether it was mythology and culture, the geology and geography of Iceland or just day to day life. He transported us around this amazing country sprouting facts and figures mixed with the perfect blend of humour and warmth of personality. I genuinely feel we had THE BEST OF THE BEST and would highly recommend this company for this tour.
