Morogoro
The region encompasses an expanse of 70,624 square kilometers (27,268 square miles), making it roughly equivalent in size to the entire land area of the nation of Ireland. Situated in the Mid-Eastern part of mainland Tanzania, the Morogoro Region enjoys a tropical savannah climate characterized by consistent rainfall, particularly in the lowlands. This region is distinguished by the prestigious Uluguru Mountains, which rise to an impressive elevation of 2,630 meters above sea level.
Mikumi
By the time you reach Morogoro late in the morning, the day has already settled into a gentle rhythm. Your driver-guide will meet you at the SGR station and take you on a short, scenic ride to your hotel. As the town fades, the Morogoro landscape opens wide and peaceful, almost the size of Ireland. To your left, the Udzungwa Mountains rise softly, their blue-green slopes adding quiet beauty to the journey. In the evening, you’ll visit the Mikumi Maasai Boma to experience the daily life of the Maasai people. The Maasai are a semi-nomadic community found in Tanzania and Kenya, known for their colorful attire, strong traditions, and deep connection to nature. Their way of life offers a meaningful glimpse into one of East Africa’s most iconic cultures. At the Boma, you can join traditional dances, watch the famous jumping, learn fire-making, step inside a Maasai house, taste local foods, and explore handmade crafts. You are warmly welcomed to feel at home with the Maasai.

Mikumi National Park
You’ll spend a full, exciting day out on the game drive, moving through wide open landscapes and watching the park come alive around you. As you roam, you might see elephants wandering slowly across the plains, lions stretched out in the grass, giraffes towering above the trees, and herds of buffalo and zebras moving in their steady rhythm. If luck is on your side, you may even spot a shy leopard slipping through the bushes or colorful birds sweeping across the sky. Around midday, you’ll stop for a simple picnic lunch in the heart of the wild, surrounded by the soft rustle of the bush and the distant call of animals. After your break, the adventure continues as you explore deeper into the park, discovering quiet corners and taking in the beauty that unfolds with every turn. When the light begins to turn golden and the day slows down, you’ll make your way back to your lodge or hotel, carrying with you the unforgettable magic of a safari day well spent.

On your final day, you may choose to take a gentle two-hour walk through the villages of Mikumi. The trail leads you into warm, lively communities where daily life moves at its own peaceful pace. As you walk, you’ll meet welcoming locals, pass by green fields stretching toward the hills, and witness the traditions that shape life in rural Tanzania. It’s an unhurried experience that allows you to truly feel the spirit of the village. Once the walk comes to an end, you’ll make your way to Morogoro town for a relaxed lunch—an easy moment to sit back, enjoy the flavors, and reflect on the morning. Afterward, your journey continues to the SGR station in Kihonda for a smooth train ride back to Dar es Salaam. When you arrive in the afternoon, you’ll be taken to your hotel or your original pickup point, carrying with you the warmth, stories, and gentle memories of a beautiful cultural experience

5.00Our 3-day private safari in Mikumi was like stepping into a living nature documentary, but with our family right in the middle of it. From the very first game drive, the park welcomed us with wide open landscapes dotted with giraffes, elephants, and zebras moving as if they owned the place. The beauty of a private safari was having the freedom to stop whenever we wanted-whether to watch a lioness stretch lazily under a tree or to let the kids snap their best-ever photos of a baby elephant. My children were amazed to spot zebras and wildebeests roaming freely across the golden plains, and every sunset painted the sky in colors we’ll never forget. This wasn’t just a trip-it was three days of laughter, discovery, and memories stitched into the heart of our family. Mikumi gave us more than wildlife; it gave us moments we’ll talk about for years.

5.00We had a wonderful family 3 day trip to Mikumi National Park with our two kids, and it was truly memorable. The park was peaceful and full of wildlife we saw giraffes, zebras, elephants, and even lions up close. Our kids were amazed and excited throughout the safari. Our guide was great with children, explaining everything in a fun way. It was an unforgettable day full of smiles, learning, and beautiful nature. The open landscapes were beautiful, and the game drive was smooth and family-friendly. It felt safe, well-guided, and perfect for a short adventure with children. Envoyage Tanzania was perfect for families tours operator.

5.00My husband and I went on a 3-day safari to Mikumi National Park, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The park is beautiful, with open landscapes and great chances to see animals up close. We had several amazing sightings, including a lioness with her cubs and a herd of elephants crossing the road right in front of us. Our guide was friendly and full of interesting facts about the animals and the park’s ecosystem. The cost for this safari was very affordable, Envoyage management didn't charge anything extra. The accommodation was very comfortable, and the food was fresh and tasty. It was peaceful and romantic perfect for a couple’s trip. Thank you 🙏

5.00We had an amazing 3-days private safari in Mikumi National Park, Tanzania. The park is full of wildlife we saw elephants, giraffes, lions, and so many beautiful birds, all without the crowds you'd find in bigger parks. Envoyage team made everything smooth and personal. Our guide was super knowledgeable and made sure we got the best views. Comfortable vehicle, great accommodation, and top-notch service from start to finish. Their customer service is top-class, and they really take the time to get things right. It was such a relief to know everything was being handled by pros. I’m still amazed at how smooth it all went!
