Budhi Gandaki starts on the eastern slopes of Manaslu (the 8th highest peak in the world) and the Ganesh Himal thus the water is very cold. It flows south through a steep valley before joining the Trisuli river. The Budhi Gandaki is our favorite river as it still remains wild and therefore the exceptional river for rafting in Nepal. This river is passing through typical Nepali villages, provides amazing mountain views. It lies halfway between Kathmandu and Pokhara and yet it’s a mystery river!
You will enjoy every night campfire on the sandy beaches. On the first day, we would start driving to the starting point and get ready for the next day rafting. During that day we will be passing through the beautiful traditional Nepalese villages. The starting point is in Arhet which is very close to the Tibetan border. During the second day, we will have intensive full-day rafting with many rapids. During the last day, there is a half-day gentle white water with a finishing point at our camp.

We spent an amazing 2 months in Nepal staying with Sailendra and the boys, I couldn’t recommend this experience more to anyone. We did the 3 days white water rafting trip which included fresh amazing food, transportation and highly skilled white water raft guiding for a great price. We slept on the beach alongside the Budhi Gandaki and enjoyed the food and campfire and the staff looked after us so well, while also ensuring our safety. This was just one of the trips we did with Best Adventure Nepal and we will be making sure to come back as soon as possible to do more!!

It has been a while since I had my experience with Best Adventure Nepal, but I think it really was the best. Unfortunately I only had 4 weeks in the camp, so my experience was really sort, but it gave me a different perspective from the world we know. Everyone in the camp was friendly, helpful and specially welcoming. Nepal is really different from Western cultures, so it takes a while to appreciate what you are really doing, but with some distance looking back I am really happy that I spent some time in there. They also helped me greatly to organise some adventures, like trekking the Mardi Himal or a short rafting trip, that was definitely between the highlights of the trip. Again, would really encourage to visit and if possible stay longer so you can engage in more activities to help the locals, like their school projects which maybe I will be able to join in the future.
