My name is Jeanne Maze, an Anglo French professional artist and a viticultrice, running my own Cognac vineyard.
Come to Domaine de Monplaisir in the beautiful Borderies region of Cognac and experience my two great passions. I will show you our vineyard and my studio and then we will go and paint outside in the vines. If the weather is bad we will work indoors.
I work in all different mediums, pastel, gouache, oil and charcoal. I will show you how to expand your approach to working outdoors and help with all aspects of your painting / drawing technique.
Beginners are welcome, and basic materials are included. More experienced artists are welcome to bring their own equipment.
My aim is that you'll walk away with a greater confidence in your art and will have thoroughly enjoyed your time in our vineyard!

What To Expect
We meet at 9.30am or 3pm in the afternoon at Domaine de Monplaisir. If you need a special time it can be arranged. I will take you to my studio and I will explain various techniques for different mediums. Then we will go into the vines and work outdoors. I will provide all the basic materials and beginners are welcome.

Art materials are included and stools for working outdoors
Before we begin I will offer coffee or tea or mineral water. Afterwards you can visit our cellars.

2.00Whilst it was nice to meet Jeanne and hear about her impressive family history, see her work and see the vineyard - it was however disappointing that we didn’t get to paint or sketch ourselves as was advertised would happen as part of this activity. There was no practical hands on experience and this was disappointing and therefore no personal feedback or assistance was given again as advertised in the activity promotion hence the 2 star rating. A pity as Jeanne was a lovely person.

5.00A unique and fabulous experience. Painting amongst the vines was delightful. Jeanne, a wonderful teacher, exceptional artist. Learning about the Cognac traditions and running of a vineyard was very interesting also. Our workshop ended with a tour and superb afternoon tea with Robert and Jeanne. Fabulous!
