5.00My wife and I just got back from Egypt and our Cairo experience in particular was fantastic (small disclaimer though: I was blown away by the temples in Luxor. Not so much by the Pyramids in Giza). Our guide, Wael, was informed, friendly and enthusiastic and definitely made us feel as though we were seeing the city in a unique way. We both certainly hope to see him again. And don't believe the hype - we felt extremely safe the entire time. Wael knew everyone, knew all the spots, and knew how to navigate through all the foot traffic and seemingly unending lines at the tourist spots. Our drivers throughout the trip were also great and extremely accommodating. Don't fall into the trap that Egypt isn't a place to visit anymore.
