This tour is a custom tour and are not necessarily in the order below. Each guide has their own itinerary and have a specific place and time to be throughout the tour. The 3 hour tour makes a stop at the famous John Ford’s Point where many of John Wayne’s western cinematic movies were film, and also the Transformers: Age of Extinction featuring Mark Wahlberg. Next, your guide will drive to The Backcountry of the park and escort you to the arches. At “Sun’s Eye Arch” you will be standing at a specific degree to look up into the rock arch and see why it is named Sun’s Eye. At the same location you will also see Petroglyphs and hear your guide’s stories. You will also travel to the “Big Hogan.” The Big Hogan is a great place to take family pictures and lie against the rocks and feel its warmth. Your guide will provide stories and suggest great photo shots. In the Backcountry is the “Ear of the Wind.” This is the largest arch in the park, and your guide will escort you to a photogenic spot where you can take photographs. You will be guided to the Totem Pole and Yei Bi Cheii Monuments where you will be able to take photographs and hear the cultural stories behind each monument. Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel, then get ready for a scenic drive to Monument Valley in a comfortable all-terrain vehicle— allowing for exclusive access to parts of the park that are inaccessible to smaller cars. The area, located on a Navajo Reservation and considered a sacred healing region by Native American tribes, is tough to navigate on your own. But your guide will walk you through the history of the Navajo tribal park and the background of each stunning natural formation. With your choice of a sunrise or sunset tour, you’re bound for incredible, camera-ready views during the sun-kissed time of day known by photographers as the “Golden Hour.” The itineraries are fully customizable, so you’ll have your pick of some incredible spots, including iconic rock formations like John Ford’s Point, which served as film backdrop in many John Wayne Westerns. One of the most photographed formations is the Yei Bi Chei monuments, which resemble a line of tribal dancers. You’ll also get an opportunity to take pictures of the Big Hogan, a sandstone cave chamber, and Ear of the Wind, a mesmerizing, crimson-hued arch. At the North Window where you will have a chance to take pictures of the Mittens and Butte at different angles. Your tour guide will then slowly and safely transport you back to your departure point.

Roz was our guide, and she was very patient and approachable. She played her cedar wood flute for us in a beautiful outdoor rock setting, truly lovely. She took some fun shots of our group, and shared many personal details about growing up Native. The scenery was breathtaking and very different from our homes in the Midwest-Wi & IA. We were very grateful to have such a friendly guide. We were really impressed with her sand driving skills. She shared a story about "Bluebird Flour" for fry bread and how far she traveled to obtain it. We were able to acquire some and plan on doing a taste test! Great experience, thank you Roz!

We had a great trip and our guide was wonderful and the weather was great for the sun to set on the natural monuments in the valley. We also learned about and appreciated the Navaho culutre. It met our expectations and more. Being there in March was a little cool but the experience was very memorable.

We booked this tour last minute for a day trip and had a great time. Bobby led a great tour, it was informative, the views were beautiful and we made it back in time to watch the sunset. Our teenagers enjoyed it as well.

Harry was very kind and helpful in a stressful situation. We had booked a different tour with a different company, but due to our late booking (I'm guessing) that company didn't show up to pick us up. Harry took care of us and contacted the company. They made an agreement that he could provide us with the tour because of the unexplained mix up. Harry was informative, sharing personal stories and took us to many monument sites, giving us time to explore and take photos. Overall an excellent tour. We felt like we saw everything we needed to see, but felt that 3 hours was more than enough. The roads are rough (not any fault of the company)

I chose a tour with a Navajo guide. He gave me a detailed explanation of the rock's name, history and culture, which made my trip deeper, not only because I could see the scenery but also because I could learn its background. On the tour, we were able to take you to special points that you can’t enter on your own, and there were many memorable photo spots. The guide also took photos at the recommended points. We were expecting to see a beautiful sunset inside Monument Valley because we signed up for a sunset tour, but the tour ended before the sun set. It was a bit disappointing to see a couple of people arrive more than 30 minutes late for the meeting time on the tour, which was actually 2.5 hours.

It was an amazing experience. We took the sunrise tour in January and stayed at The View hotel that made starting the tour in the morning easier. If you can, plan to stay there for some amazing views from your room. The tour promptly started at 630. It was freezing cold so it’s good to be prepared with proper warm clothing. Our tour guide Bobby was very knowledgeable and took us to some of the best spots in the Valley.
