Friendly guide. Language not as advertised

2.00Our tour guide was very friendly and enthusiastic. And we saw some interesting backroads, lots of bulls and flamingos and the wine tasting was fun. The main problem for us was this tour was advertised and sold to us as an “English Tour” but was predominantly in French so we missed quite a lot and could not ask questions very effectively due to the language difference. Recorded descriptions of some areas were played for us as the English speakers but were hard to understand and not the same as having a tour guide actively share information and respond the moment. I think this is probably a great tour if you understand French and want to see the area from a vehicle with a guide. We respect that French is the language here. We just would not have booked it had we known the English would be so limited as we wanted a tour we could understand and engage more. I recommend the tour operators make it clear the tour is in both languages and that the English is provided by recording.

4.00Carole the driver & monitor was great! We were two Cdns - thankfully one french from Quebec without whom we would have missed a lot of the narrative. Plus 2 english speaking Germans. Tour was great, good information and sites were very nice. Downside - vehicle back seats a bit worn, very back had 2 seats facing each other which would not have been good if 4 folks were there. The english tape was narrated by a native french speaking person with a heavy french accent who also did not have a great command of the english terminology; thus most of it was incomprehensible. Should be audio speakers in back. I would recommend this to friends …
