5.00My sister and I had the immense pleasure of spending the morning with Don Mose on a private tour of the Valley. He is a wonderful storyteller. Using pictographs as an organizing theme, he interwove descriptions of what Monument Valley means to him personally, to his family, and to the Diné people. This sacred land is alive with his ancestors. Over the 3.5 hours we spent with him, he masterfully led us to understand not only about the Diné but also the broader relationships with tribal groups in the area and far beyond. He emphasized our common humanity. All this while driving us to sites in the “backcountry.” We highly recommend this tour!

5.00This morning we had a most memorable experience as Don Mose guided us through the highlights of Monument Valley and the back country too. As we stopped along the way for magnificent photos opportunities, he shared so much about the history and his own incredible stories. As an artist I especially appreciated his sensitivity to the light, the Points of View and the connection to the landscape. I highly recommend you take his tour in a comfort of his large SUV -it’s worth it!

5.00The 3.5 Hr Private Monument Valley tour was the best tour that we have ever taken. It was the two of us with our wonderful guide, Don. He was so knowledgeable and took us to many offsite places to visit. We learned so much about the Navajo indians and their lifestyle and heritage. It was in a suburban, so it was enclosed. He made various stops and took lots of pictures for us. We just loved it. We were gone 2 weeks thru a lot of Utah and Arizona. This was the highlight of our two weeks.

5.00My husband and I opted for a private tour. Our wonderful Navajo guide, Don Mose, drove us through the valley stopping at especially interesting points. The only way to see the backcountry is with a Tribal member guide and there is so much more to see in the backcountry that you’d miss without having a guide. Don also explained the history of the Navajo and their beliefs. So interesting!

5.00Our morning with Don Mose in Monument Valley was a very special experience. Don is a font of wisdom, knowledge, and history. We had a private tour in an SUV and he drove expertly in the rugged terrain. We especially liked his explanations of the petroglyphs and to help us see the animal shapes all around us. Don taught us how the Diné/Navajo people so beautifully greet others, each finger representing an ancestor. And he helped us take beautiful photos of what we saw. The valley itself is a natural wonder. Truly magical. Go! And ask for Don if you can.

5.00If you are interested in the life of an American Indian as well as a tour of Monument Valley, then this tour is for you. Don Mose, your tour guide, has had has had a fascinating life and given of himself to extend his Indian culture to future generations (if they will listen). Have you ever wished you had listened to, and asked questions of, your grandparents while they were still living? Mr. Mose did and took many life lessons to memory. Yes, you will get a great tour of Monument Valley. More importantly, you will learn from a very wiseman about life. I am so glad we signed up for his tour. I could spend months and years learning from this man. If you just want the highlights of Monument Valley, choose another tour. If you are looking for something deeper, more meaningful, sign up for a tour with Don Mose. Explore what it means to be an American Indian and what he has learned in his lifetime.
