We went on a 4D3N cruise and lived a dream awake! First of all, one of the highlights of this cruise was the crew: a Captain Ivan, very experienced to go up the river to Camp Leaky, two assistants Gatra and Fizi always smiling, of great help and extreme efficiency, the cook Yanah who prepared us DELICIOUS (the best of our stay in Indonesia) and gourmet (we ate more than we were hungry). And finally, our guide Husni, more than experienced and with 1000 anecdotes. The crew was more than dedicated to making this experience simply unforgettable! We were lucky enough to see many orangutans but also many other animals and plants of all kinds, whether during the day or during the night walk. Finally, the Klotok (traditional boat) is really spacious for two and comfortable. We can only recommend this cruise which will remain one of the best memories of our 6 weeks stay in Indonesia!!

From the moment Arif welcomed us early morning at the Pangkalan Bun airport with a big, friendly smile, we knew we were in good hands. At the boat launch, he introduced us to the crew and to our guide, Vera, who really made this tour a wonderful experience. The tour is extremely well organized and safety-minded and the boat is very clean. Vera was a delight, so informative and knowledgeable about the creatures we saw including the dozens of wild and semi wild orangutans and proboscis monkeys, kingfishers and was as excited as we were when we came upon rarer animals like silver langue monkeys, lesser adjutants, stick insects, lizards, eagles and a venomous yellow river snake. I had been a little concerned about the heat at night, but it was actually quite pleasant with a light breeze and an orchestra of jungle noises lulling us to sleep under the mosquito netting. The crew gave us plenty of privacy while providing expertise guiding the boat down the river, providing lovely nutritional meals, changing our bedding each night. Vera truly went above and beyond - it was extremely hot even for Borneo, (being from a cold country, we struggle with the heat) but magically she appeared at the feeding platforms with icy towels to cool us down, umbrellas during a sudden downpour and fans to help with the heat. At dinner each night, she set up candlelit dinners . so thoughtful. Back at the launch, leaving to head home, Arif appeared once again, big smile, with a bag of local treats. such a lovely, thoughtful gift. We hopped in the taxi, heading to the airport. We were just a couple of kilometers down the road, a scooter suddenly appeared beside our taxi, frantically waving us to stop - it was Vera once again - in her hand was my husband's cell phone which he had left behind on the boat. Even the taxi driver commented, "good people". Applause is known as "good people" - if you're looking for a tour you'll never forget, this is the one to go with. If you're lucky to have Vera as your guide, you'll be in the best hands.

Unforgetable sightings of all the large primates at close quarters, at the feeding stations and often from the klotok. Our crew's modus operandi was to cruise slowly just to get to the appointed location in good time - we were constantly being passed by others who seemed to have a "hurry up and wait" schedule. Living on the open deck for four days in that hot humid weather was very different to any other travel experience and may not be for the feint of hearted. Our crew were very attentive and we were taken care of exceptionally well.

We are travelling 5 weeks in Indonesia now, but the 4 days/3 nights trip with Orangutan Applause is still the (very) best experience so far. We had Teguh as a guide, who is really dedicated to his job and wants his customers to have the best experience. We enjoyed his professional, sometimes funny comments. The trip was even better than expected, because we saw many orangutans in all the three feeding stations, but also in the wild. And the probiscus monkeys also showed up. An experience to never forget! Thanks team to make this possible. The food was very good, too, and we liked the boat, with the bed in the back and not in the center of the deck.

This was one of the most wonderful experiences we have had so far in our lives. The 4-day drive is just perfect all around. We were still a bit unsure when booking when we read about feeding stations - but when we were there and realised that it was simply a platform in the jungle and the orangutans had the freedom to choose whether to come or not, all the doubts were blown away and we were only moved by the experience of being able to observe these creatures. Our guide Vera was great and the rest of the crew just made our experience even more perfect and sleeping on deck and in the middle of the national park was just a dream! A thousand thanks and to all those out there who are considering booking this tour: For the money you get no better experience than this!
