My hiking adventure through the rice terranes terraces was amazing. Jonathan was an excellent guide and adapted his pace to mine well. The accommodations are basic. The food was basic. The transport was basic. But that wasn't a bad thing - just something to expect. Each stay had a shower with warm water which was much needed each evening. The hiking varied between mild to moderate to endless stairs (up and down). My legs were on fire by the end. There were plenty of locals selling bottled water along the way, but I would advise starting with 1-2 liters. Bring a book or something to pass the time in the evenings, as we arrived at the villages at around 3-4 each day. Bring a bunch of small bills 100p/500p to buy water and meals. Bring good hiking shoes with a good grip. And pack extra socks. If you are looking for a truly local, beautiful, strenuous trip through the rice terraces, this is a great tour option.

We looked long for a well suited trekking tour from Manila to Banaue that would fit our needs. Here we found a very good recommandations and we could adapt the tpur to our wishes and needs. The trekking can be challenging (if you are used to hike more because of the weather) but worth everx energy. Our guide Marvin was excellent and always adapted the pace to our current energy situation. We did 4 days 3 nights trekking and were super lucky with the weather. The pick up in Manila worked perfectly and the drive is very long and curvey but still worth for the trekking. On the last day we left from Batad directly to Banaue to arrive in Manila at 6 pm instead of hiking again 4 hours. Going bavk I would not to like this but have also the hike on day 3. The homestays are simple but very nice. You can always arrange your lunch to take away there. So you dl not to get anything. Water can be brought in every village or also along the way (max. 100 pesos for 1 L was the most expensive one). I would recommend this tour operator. It might be expensive but we enjoyed every minute and did not have to worry about anything. Everything was taken care of. Suggestions to improve: send an informatory mail in advance to know what to bring and a little bit more details.
