During your four-day nomadic experience, you will enjoy a taste of Mongolian life. Your journey will begin as you travel by train across the vast Mongolian steppe from Ulaanbaatar to Shaamar soum, accompanied by your native guide. Once in Shaamar soum, you will take a short car ride to the site of your nomadic homestay, just outside of Zuunburen. For the next two days, you will experience Mongolian life and culture like it has been for hundreds of years through activities such as milking cows, making dairy products, riding horses, and exploring the surrounding scenic countryside, including the natural beauty, Sukhanii Hutul. Each night, you will return to the ger you will share with your local nomadic family and enjoy local cuisine. At the end of your adventure, you will get one more bit of Mongolian life as you once again cross the vast steppe by night train to return to Ulaanbaatar.

Ulaanbaatar Railway Station
We will meet at the train station in Ulaanbaatar to start our journey to Zuunburen. While in second class seats, we will travel across the Mongolian steppe.
Arrive in Shaamar soum and travel by car to nomadic homestay site near Zuunburen.
Arrive at the ger where you will be staying near Zuunburen and enjoy your first local meal on the Mongolian steppe.

Wake up and eat breakfast. If you are an early riser, you can head out to help milk the cows before breakfast. After breakfast, you will learn to make Mongolian dairy products. Then, we will eat lunch before venturing out on horseback to our winter place. After this, you we return to the ger for dinner, milking cows, then free time for the rest of the evening. Some activities available during free time are talking, walking, and playing games.

Wake up and eat breakfast. If you are an early riser, you can head out to help milk the cows before breakfast. After breakfast, you will make more Mongolian dairy products. Once this is done, you will head by horse to the river to eat Mongolian BBQ for lunch.
After lunch is over, you will explore Saikhnii Hutul, one of the most beautiful locations in Mongolia where you can see the Selenge and Orkhon river basins.
Once you are done taking in Saikhanii Hutul's beauty, you will head to the Shammar soum train station to catch the overnight train to Ulaanbaatar.

5.00This is truly an amazing trip! From the moment I boarded the train from Ulaanbaatar to Shaamar soum, Tugsuu was welcoming, patient, and deeply knowledgeable. Not only she just translate but also shared stories of nomadic traditions, taught us how to milk cows and ride horses . When we rode horses or explored Sukhanii Hutul, she took a lot of amazing photos and we even wore traditional Mongolian customs while riding the horse! Her English was clear and her family offer us with great hospiltality! Just authentic connection with the nature. If you wanna escape a little bit from the urban , this is the trip you want!
It was a memorable experience for the rest of my life, learning a lot about nomadic life.

5.00Thank you for organizing such a wonderful tour. I was helped by a friendly tour guide and a nomadic family, which gave me a valuable experience. The food was great and I didn't feel any inconvenience during my stay. On the first day, you will travel during the day to see various views of Mongolia, and on the way back you will take a sleeper train, which allows for an efficient trip. Please try different things on this tour and make it a great trip!

5.00This is a homestay-style tour organized not by a company, but by an individual and their family. Therefore, if you let them know what kind of experience you’re looking for—either in advance or during your stay—they should be able to accommodate your requests with a fair amount of flexibility. I was able to enjoy the tranquil natural scenery of northern Mongolia and the warm hospitality of the family. The host is fluent in English, so as long as you can speak English, you shouldn’t have any trouble communicating.

5.00The first and last days are mostly mobile, so it's actually the second and third days when you're most active, but it's a fulfilling experience! Nature, cows and horses. The rice is delicious, and living in a gel is a valuable experience. Please try to go there!!!
