During your four-day nomadic experience, you will enjoy a taste of Mongolian life. Your journey will begin as you travel by train across the vast Mongolian steppe from Ulaanbaatar to Shaamar soum, accompanied by your native guide. Once in Shaamar soum, you will take a short car ride to the site of your nomadic homestay, just outside of Zuunburen. For the next two days, you will experience Mongolian life and culture like it has been for hundreds of years through activities such as milking cows, making dairy products, riding horses, and exploring the surrounding scenic countryside, including the natural beauty, Sukhanii Hutul. Each night, you will return to the ger you will share with your local nomadic family and enjoy local cuisine. At the end of your adventure, you will get one more bit of Mongolian life as you once again cross the vast steppe by night train to return to Ulaanbaatar.

Enjoy a homemade Mongolian meal
Ulaanbaatar Railway Station
We will meet at the train station in Ulaanbaatar to start our journey to Zuunburen. While in second class seats, we will travel across the Mongolian steppe.
Arrive in Shaamar soum and travel by car to nomadic homestay site near Zuunburen.
Arrive at the ger where you will be staying near Zuunburen and enjoy your first local meal on the Mongolian steppe.
Making Mongolian Dairy Products and Horseback RIding

Wake up and eat breakfast. If you are an early riser, you can head out to help milk the cows before breakfast. After breakfast, you will learn to make Mongolian dairy products. Then, we will eat lunch before venturing out on horseback to our winter place. After this, you we return to the ger for dinner, milking cows, then free time for the rest of the evening. Some activities available during free time are talking, walking, and playing games.

Wake up and eat breakfast. If you are an early riser, you can head out to help milk the cows before breakfast. After breakfast, you will make more Mongolian dairy products. Once this is done, you will head by horse to the river to eat Mongolian BBQ for lunch.
After lunch is over, you will explore Saikhnii Hutul, one of the most beautiful locations in Mongolia where you can see the Selenge and Orkhon river basins.
Once you are done taking in Saikhanii Hutul's beauty, you will head to the Shammar soum train station to catch the overnight train to Ulaanbaatar.

5.00The first and last days are mostly mobile, so it's actually the second and third days when you're most active, but it's a fulfilling experience! Nature, cows and horses. The rice is delicious, and living in a gel is a valuable experience. Please try to go there!!!
