An early morning wake-up call with tea or coffee and rusks. Leave the camp on a dawn game drive as the day stirs around you. Perhaps you will find some hunting lions or an elegant leopard slinking along in the hope of catching a slow moving impala for its breakfast! As the day warms up, stop at one of the Parks’ rest camps or picnic sites to enjoy a bush brunch – all this while your friends and family are at home stuck in a traffic jam on the way to the office! Around midday, return to camp for a siesta or relax under the shady trees with a good book. Mid-afternoon sees everyone getting together for tea & coffee before heading out to the bush again as nature starts the late shift. Return to camp as the gates close for another tasty bush dinner around the fire

If you're looking for a safari in South Africa and you're trying to find a tour operator, you should definitely go with African Safari Adventures. Everything feels very personal and tailored to what you want and what you like. They have been very helpful with the planning, listened to our wishes and what we liked and gave us a worry-free experience at a competitive price. The guide, Dirk, is probably one of the most experienced and engaged guides in the Kruger park. He keeps track of animal sightings in the past days / weeks and generally knows where to go. He is also very engaged on the radio, trying to make sure to be up-to-date with the latest sightings. We have also done a Panorama day tour with Heyn, who is very knowledgeable and made us feel like we were on a road trip with an old friend, as opposed to having a guide. Lastly, we did a trip to Swaziland with Adriaan, who is the expert on Swazi culture. We had a great time here too, I can definitely recommend going here if you have the time. Book at least two nights, as if you just go for one night, things may get a little tight. The accommodation we had was included and could not have wished for anything better.

What a wonderful experience! I can't say enough great things! From the beginning, Tracey was so helpful. She answered all my questions about this trip, and was even helpful with other parts of our trip, which were completely unrelated. Our children have food allergies, so I was a little nervous. She was very helpful, super careful (as was our guide), and even took us to our first stop of a high end grocery store that is specializes in healthy foods, so we could have safe snacks for the children. We found this company on accident. We were just searching for game drives and were excited to see they could coordinate a longer experience, as well. We have done self-catering through Kruger, and ultra luxury safaris, as well. This was the best of all worlds. 1) We had an excellent guide, Dirk, and Teenage, our camp host. We had so much fun with both of them. We had the benefit of open air private drives that we had at luxury lodges, but we got to experience it inside Kruger! We never felt like we were chasing down animals (as we have felt in some of the smaller reserves), but still got to see everything we wanted to! We saw the Big 5, plus wild dogs, black rhinos. Stinking elusive cheetah!!!! :-) Dirk was so knowledgeable about everything, including all birds, which we loved. 2) We wanted a nice place to sleep for our family, wanted to do it under canvas so we could hear the lions in the early hours, and wanted it to be affordable. It was all that. Our tents were so comfortable. I haven't slept like that in a long time (luxury cots with the nicest sheets!) Staying in Kruger means you are out early, before the crowds and out later in the evening as well. 3) We didn't want to worry about cooking. They handled all of that and it was so delicious and wonderful. My son adored Teenage, and loved helping him with monkey duty in camp. We all were so sad to say goodbye to Dirk and leave this incredible experience. I highly recommend this trip. Ask Tracey if you want to modify it in any way, and she will adjust to your specific needs. I am counting the days until we can go back to our happy place!

This is an excellent way to experience Kruger National Park with an expert guide. The tent accommodations aren't luxurious, but they aren't primitive either. Our tent was arranged with a queen size cot and mattress and an electric fan. Even in October, the evenings were cool enough to sleep although the days were still quite warm. Our guide, Dirk, was a total rock star for finding game and for educating us on the various bird species around the park. While we were away on game drives, our porter, Teenage, kept the camp clean and prepped for the outstanding meals that they cooked for us on a camp stove. This was a fun, car-camping experience and we would definitely recommend it to our friends looking for a safari experience in Kruger National Park.

Our Kruger experience with African Safari Adventures was out of this world, I never expected to see so much. Dirk, our ranger / guide for the trip always seemed to make sure we were in the right place at the right time for the best viewing experience. He had a deep knowledge and obvious love for the animals and birds of Kruger and was keen to share this with us. He and Teenager looked after us like royalty, tending to our every need. Thank you all so much, it was a holiday of a lifetime with my boys, creating memories that I, and I hope they, treasure always.

Spent 4 days/3 nights in Skukuza in Kruger National Park in tented accom in the camping area. Booked this from Australia and had an image of some type of permanent tents, not in a camping ground. Arrived the day after the biggest hailstorm for decades that had caused incredible damage and chaos within the park. The guide and his band of helpers had gone through hell and back-tents destroyed, bedding wet, people’s belongings saturated etc etc We were welcomed warmly and thus started our stay Our guide Dirk and his right hand man “teenage” could not be faulted Nothing was too much trouble, this is not glamping, but it’s very comfortable camping eg, a hot water bottle each night, and on request one for the morning drive(which can be very cold until the sun comes up) Dirk had the most incredible knowledge of the park,it’s Animals and bird life,it’s history and it’s quirks. We saw an amazing amount of animals (4 of the big 5, and Dirk tried his best to find that Leopard to make it 5 of 5) We saw so many great animals ,I thought everything would be through binoculars, but so many are so close to the track/road I was constantly amazed. I think this trip is about what you want to put into it. But you obviously need someone like Dirk to make it happen I almost forgot to mention that we had absolutely fabulous food, 2-3 course dinners each night and a hearty breakfast mid morning each day We were especially lucky to be with a sensational group of people as well How lucky were we!
