This was an amazing trip. From the time of booking this tour to the end Jakes was so prompt replying, helpful and did everything possible to make our experience amazing, which he successfully did. The information that he gave us during the time travelling was so informative and interesting. The Panorama Route is not to be missed and the experience on the Blyde River Canyon was beyond expectations. In our case the Safari was the highlight of all with some animals being so close to the vehicle and seeing so many animals. Having everything organised for us make the trip so much more enjoyable. Accommodation, food and a high standard comfortable vehicle were all excellent. We would highly recommend Jakes and wish him every success.

we (family with a 5 year old child) were picked up from hotel in Johannesburg on time and we were surprisingly alone and no other participants (could not be seen that this is a private tour!! )) James also spoke a little German about it, which we also liked a lot. All our wishes were taken care of incl. wanted sights to see, breaks etc. We had booked in Kamps an additional 2 excursions like sunset and early morning safari tour. All just brilliant. Selected hotels were hotel clean and very pretty. Pure nature everywhere. All BIG 5 were seen, plus dozens of other animals. at this point sincere thanks and warmest recommendations for James and his organization.

Amatungulu Tours South Africa delivered an exceptional experience for our group, and we can't recommend them highly enough! Our guide, Jakes, was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He picked us up in Johannesburg and expertly guided us through a memorable 4-day journey in Kruger National Park. Jakes' extensive knowledge and friendly demeanor made the trip both informative and enjoyable. He went above and beyond to tailor our experience, including ensuring we got a chance to see one of the Big Five animals on our last day in the park. His recommendations were always spot on, and his spacious, air-conditioned vehicle made our travels comfortable. Jakes' laid-back yet professional approach made us feel at ease throughout the tour, and he always had our best interests at heart. Thanks to him, we have cherished memories from our time in South Africa. Amatungulu Tours and Jakes' exceptional service will certainly be recommended to all our family and friends!

We Enjoyed the four days. Simon was really accomodating and was flexible to our schedule. We were lucky enough to see the big5 in the first two days and we did a few extra game drives in the park were we saw plenty of other animals. We stayed in different lodges throughout the park and the food is great, plenty of options. The panorama route was also very nice to experience. Would recommend this tour!

We flew in from Canada and spent a wonderful few days touring the Kruger Park with Jakes who was a very friendly, knowledgeable tour guide. We drove through the park and almost saw all of the Big 5 including many different animals along the way. Jakes was helpful, personable and thorough. We enjoyed our time with our family and went on a morning and night drive where we saw many more animals and had a magical Bush Braai which was the hilight of our trip. Had a great time learning so much about the parks history and the animals themselves. Thanks Jakes until next time.

Jakes was our tour guide, and you can't wish for a much better person to show you around South Africa. It was the first time that my partner and I visited South Africa, so we greatly enjoyed how knowledgeable Jakes is on the country's history and culture. His deep expertise and passion for wildlife also certainly came in handy while we were in Kruger. We enjoyed the small group size, which meant that we were able to see a lot more sights than other larger tour groups. The itinerary was well-crafted, as it has the perfect balance of nature and safari. Thanks so much for a great few days, Jakes - we hope to join one of your other tours in South Africa in the not so distant future.

We asked Jakes to take us to Kruger National Park from Johannesburg. What we got was so much more, Jakes' family has lived in South Africa for hundreds of years and he has an endless supply of interesting and informative information about the country. The drive to Kruger was pretty long but he made it seem short by showing us many interesting things along the way. At Kruger he did a game drive with us both on the way in and on the way out, both were better then the game drive provided by the park. He never failed to put our needs first including finding an open pharmacy on the weekend so we could get some cold medicine. Jakes was a much better tour guide than the one we had from a major tour company, he was absolutely first rate and is a legally licensed South African tour guide. In fact he was so good that we asked him to spend a day taking us around Johannesburg and to Soweto. Jakes has done these tours dozens of times as evidenced by the fact that he knows all the best places to go and that people wave and say hi when you are walking on the street with him. Obviously, well known and well liked whether in Kruger or Soweto. I couldn't give Jakes a higher recommendation, give him an idea of what you want to do and he will work to deliver the best trip possible. Thank you Jakes for all you effort on our behalf.

Jakes is very knowledgeable and experienced in all things South Africa and safari. Within moments of starting the tour he provides the history and background that gives you a sense of how modern South Africa evolved. Once the safari begins you really see the benefit of an expert guide. He had a knack for finding some of the rarest animals and expertly navigates his environment to get the best angles. His booking skills are also top notch as each camp put us in the best position to see certain animals on sunset tours and the accommodations were always comfortable and easily accessible. All in all Jakes guided us through the experience smoothly and helped us create life long memories.
