Experience the Grand Canyon on a guided Sunset Rim Tour with Canyon Ministries, exploring this world-renowned landscape from a biblical Creation perspective.
The tour begins inside Grand Canyon National Park at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center flagpole, meeting approximately four hours before sunset. Travel in comfort along Desert View Drive on the South Rim’s east side, stopping at some of the canyon’s most spectacular overlooks and panoramic viewpoints.
At each stop, step out to enjoy breathtaking scenery, explore the rim, and engage in meaningful teaching. Your guide shares fascinating insights into Grand Canyon geology, wildlife, and history, framed by the biblical account of Creation and the Flood described in Genesis.
The tour concludes with a stunning Grand Canyon sunset as the sun sets over the western horizon. Duration varies by season, returning about 30 minutes after sunset.

What To Expect
Grand Canyon South Rim
Our biblical creation tours of the Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim include multiple stops to the very best overlooks with tons of insightful teaching throughout the day. The order below is a "typical" route, focusing on the park's east side along Desert View Drive. Due to changing weather, seasons, or the people flow in the park that day, we may have alternate stops other than what we provide below. Our tours are not "scripted", so guides have the freedom and flexibility to respond to changes in the park as well as your own individual group dynamic. Our tour does not include entry fee into the Grand Canyon National Park, which you may pay at the gate or use a National Park Pass. Entry is good for 7 days of unlimited use.
Grand Canyon Visitor Center South Rim
Our tour meets at the flag pole just outside the Grand Canyon Visitor Center building INSIDE the park at tour start time. Plan extra arrival time during spring and summer. Holidays and spring break may have lines over an hour long getting into the park. We suggest you arrive early and enjoy views at the Grand Canyon Village or Mather Point or a Rim Trail walk before joining our tour.

5.00What an amazing tour! Luke did a great job showing us the glories of the canyon and tying in the scientific evidence of the stratus that we can witness with our own eyes! Everything from creature comforts to wondrous views was thoughtfully met and we had a fun group to explore with. This tour is a 10 out of 10!

5.00We had a wonderful experience on the tour. Our guide, Daniel, was exceptional. He clearly has a heart for people and for spreading the gospel message! He had all our names and home states memorized within the first minute of meeting us (11 of us). We made several stops around the park during our 4 hour tour and at each stop Daniel clearly presented both the worldview and the biblical view of how the canyon was formed and when. He had an amazing knowledge of the geology of the rock formations - it was so educational and impactful. The sunset was gorgeous, also! Highly, highly recommend this tour with Canyon Ministries!!

2.00I wish I had known more about the content of this tour, which is why I am sharing our experience. It is not geared towards engaging children. We had a 5, 9 and 12 year old with us and they were very, very bored. Even as an adult, I lost interest. David provided sound Biblical and scientific knowledge but it felt more like a Geology 101 college course. It is 3+ hours of listening to one person speak, with not a lot of time to explore or walk around. We could not wait for it to end and get back to our car. I was very disappointed we spent our one day at the Grand Canyon on this tour.
