Experience the Grand Canyon from a biblical creation perspective with Canyon Ministries.
The Sunset Rim Tour begins inside the park at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center flagpole, meeting around four hours before sunset. From there, you’ll journey along the South Rim’s east side on Desert View Drive, traveling in comfort to some of the most breathtaking overlooks and vistas.
At each stop, step out to take in stunning views, explore the surroundings, and engage in meaningful teaching. Your guide will share fascinating insights into the canyon’s geology, wildlife, and history, all framed by the biblical account of Creation and the Flood as described in Genesis.
At the end of the tour, we will close out the day with the One who made it as the sun sets far to the west over the rim.
Total tour length is variable, depending on when the sun sets that day. Plan to be back around 30 minutes after the sunset.
Additional tours, backpacking, & Grand Canyon river trips are also available!

Grand Canyon South Rim
Our biblical creation tours of the Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim include multiple stops to the very best overlooks with tons of insightful teaching throughout the day. The order below is a "typical" route, focusing on the park's east side along Desert View Drive. Due to changing weather, seasons, or the people flow in the park that day, we may have alternate stops other than what we provide below. Our tours are not "scripted", so guides have the freedom and flexibility to respond to changes in the park as well as your own individual group dynamic. Our tour does not include entry fee into the Grand Canyon National Park, which you may pay at the gate or use a National Park Pass. Entry is good for 7 days of unlimited use.
Grand Canyon Visitor Center South Rim
Our tour meets at the flag pole just outside the Grand Canyon Visitor Center building INSIDE the park at tour start time. Plan extra arrival time during spring and summer. Holidays and spring break may have lines over an hour long getting into the park. We suggest you arrive early and enjoy views at the Grand Canyon Village or Mather Point or a Rim Trail walk before joining our tour.

David was a very knowledgeable guide who walked us through everything you need to know about the Grand Canyon. We drove to three locations and got an understanding of the Grand canyon . We loved the experience.

This 4-hour sunset tour of the Grand Canyon was nothing short of awe-inspiring! Not only did we experience one of the most breathtaking views on earth, but the integration of biblical scripture throughout the journey elevated the entire experience into something deeply spiritual and memorable. As our guide, Dana led us along the rim, she pointed out the layers and grandeur of the canyon. She tied in passages of Scripture that spoke directly to God’s majesty and power. She gave an overview of the geological evidence for Creation and the Flood, tying everything back to Scripture. The pacing was perfect. We had ample time to reflect quietly, take in the scenery, and engage in meaningful discussions. Even though the rain clouded our sunset view, Dana took us to some extra stops to see fossil evidence and other canyon views. I’ve been on many tours, but none have combined natural wonder with biblical truth in such a seamless, powerful way. If you want to encounter the Grand Canyon not just as a marvel of nature, but as a living testimony to God’s glory, this is the tour to take. Highly recommended!

Ameila, our guide, was great and showed a good knowledge of the geologic issues. The information was both informative and entertaining. We would recommend the tour to others.

Absolutely wonderful. So refreshing to get a tour based on a biblical perspective. So tired hearing the “millions and millions of years ago” story…. Each of the stops had geological information that could be understood by a lay person. A lot of it was good common sense. Dada did an excellent job.
