5.00Our guide was there on the pier waiting for us. The vehicle was clean and there was bottled water. Our guide was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the topic of our tour, and provided great insight and history. These are the reasons why a guided tour is better than a self guided tour. He was able to answer all our questions and was very easy to have a conversation with. I would recommend this tour to anyone I know going to Thessaloniki.

5.00We were able to secure a tour with Panagiotis Kosmidis for a group of 4 and it was excellent. He greeted us at the port with a driver, nice clean car, safe driver, took us to everything we wanted to see and more with history at each step. Panagiotis is the best guide and we will return and book again directly with him. Can't recommend him strongly enough!

5.00We had the absolute best time on a private Jewish heritage tour of Thessaloniki with Mr. John! From the moment we met him, it was clear we were in for a treat. The local guide John is not only super knowledgeable, but he’s also incredibly warm and easy to talk to—it felt like exploring the city with a friend who just happens to know everything about its fascinating history. He took us to all the key spots, like the Monastirioton Synagogue, the Jewish Museum, and the Holocaust Memorial, sharing stories and insights that made the history come alive. What made the tour even more special was how personalized it was. John made sure everything was tailored to our pace and interests, and he had some great tips for where to grab amazing local food afterward (you have to try his recommendations!). Our driver Apostolos was also very kind and professional! If you’re thinking about exploring Thessaloniki’s Jewish heritage, do yourself a favor and book a tour with igohellas. I had the opportunity to visit Thessaloniki, often referred to as the "Jerusalem of the Balkans," and discovered its deep Jewish history with iGoHellas. Their team was exceptional, and I highly recommend John or Ioannis, the licensed tour guide, who did an amazing job bringing the city's heritage to life. If you're interested in learning about Thessaloniki's Jewish past, I can't recommend them enough!

Kostas is not only a professional tour guide, but also works in the Ministry of Culture, and thus fills his tours with a wealth of knowledge and multi-cultural perspective. Would certainly recommend! 5.00We had an amazing experience with our expert and very knowledgeable guide Lisa, and our driver Spanos. We learned about the Jews of Thessaloniki from ancient times through the near-decimation of the community of 50,000 Jews (half of the city’s population) in the Holocaust. Lisa expertly wove together the Jewish history with the greater Greek and world history over more than a millennium. In addition, Lisa tailored the tour to our interests, so we had a small tour of the old city and its architecture. We highly recommend this tour; it was time and money well spent!

5.00This was an excellent 4+ hour tour with guide Maria and driver George. The team arrived to collect us on time in a beautiful clean minivan, and started with Maria checking the itinerary with us to make sure she could plan everything we wanted to do in the right way. Overall we saw all the points of interest we expected to see on the Jewish Heritage itinerary and much much more around Thessaloniki. This is such an interesting city. Maria is an excellent guide, one of the best we have ever had, gave very clear explanations and context, she obviously possesses a wealth of knowledge about the city and all its history and she was extremely patient with all our questions. Both her and George made the trip very easy, minimized walking distances (I don't walk so well) by always bringing the vehicle close to our stop, and always attentive to how we were doing. We felt this team worked hard to give us a good tour, despite the sweltering heat. We got super value from this tour and learnt so much.
