We are two couples traveling together and thought this tour would be a good introduction to Tokyo. Jero was a fantastic guide! He was well-researched and had special insight into life in Japan. He provided a lot of detail about both the sites and Japanese culture and experiences. Jero took photos for us and shared tips and recommendations for the remainder of our stay.We felt the tour was customized for us. I can't recommend highly enough, and can't wait to take another tour with Jero.

I had a lovely half day tour with Franz exploring Tokyo! He was punctual and friendly, and shared tons of information about the Japanese culture and each place we stopped. We saw the beautiful Meiji Shrine, bustling Takeshita Street, Harajuku, Shibuya and Shinjuku. I appreciate all the photos he took for me and I even have a video of crossing Shibuya crossing. It was interesting taking the train. and we walked several miles on this tour.

Our day with knowledgeable, companionable Jero, touring Shibuya and its environs, was the perfect introduction to Tokyo in particular and Japanese culture in general. We began at the forested magnificence of the Meiji Shrine, then transitioned in a matter of steps to riotous Takeshita Street, with its animal cafes (featuring capybaras, micropigs, fennec foxes, and the like); Omotesando, with its vantage of long, teeming sidewalks reminiscent of Fifth Avenue; and the ateliers of Cat Street, which follows the winding course of a former river. Of particular interest were the yokocho: long, narrow alleyways dense with taverns and restaurants, some of them endearingly tiny (The mingled aromas of delicious fare abounded at Omoide Yokocho in particular). We experienced Shibuya Crossing at street level and from far above, and the gritty red-light district of Kabukicho. In my experience, there is no guide as generous and experienced as Jero. Arigato gozaimasu!

The tour was a wonderful experience, our guide Jero has brought us closer to the city very personally with lots of background information.Time has passed far too quickly. Jero has responded to all personal wishes. So that it was a very individual guide to all the known sights in Tokyo. He explained all the points to the individual sights professionally very precisely and has extended them with personal experiences. He explained a lot about Japanese culture and brought us closer. We can highly recommend this tour guide.Who wants a good private tour of Tokyo.Should choose Jero.He comes across professionally but also personally simpatic. Also what we thought nice,he held us at the hotel for the tour.So we could enjoy breakfast without stress and start the tour stronger. Thanks to Jero for bringing us closer to this city with a lot of expertise and personal love for your new home. Greetings Knut

Jero from Shiny Tours Tokyo delivered one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Japan. As a private guide who’s been living in Tokyo for over ten years, he speaks fluent English, German, and Japanese, which made communication effortless and allowed him to share deep, authentic insights into the city without any barriers. We booked a customized private walking tour focused on Tokyo’s highlights and hidden gems, and Jero tailored it perfectly to our interests and time constraints. In just one incredible day, he whisked us through iconic spots like Shibuya Crossing, Meiji Jingu Shrine, Harajuku’s vibrant streets, and Shinjuku, while weaving in fascinating history, cultural tips, and off-the-beaten-path recommendations that we never would have discovered on our own. What truly set Jero apart was his warm, genuine personality—he made us feel like close friends rather than just clients. His enthusiasm for Tokyo was infectious, his humor kept things light, and he was incredibly patient and attentive throughout. Whether explaining local customs, recommending the best street food, or navigating crowds seamlessly, he turned what could have been an overwhelming city into an enjoyable, personal adventure. If you’re visiting Tokyo and want a knowledgeable, friendly guide who goes above and beyond, Jero is absolutely the best choice. We can’t recommend him highly enough—5 stars aren’t enough! Book with confidence; you won’t regret it.

I had a really great tour with Jero from Shiny Tours in Tokyo. From the beginning the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. It didn’t feel like a typical tour at all, but rather like I was out with a buddy who really knows his stuff. Everything was well organized but flexible. I was able to ask questions and got many helpful tips for my further stay. Especially as a first-time visitor, this was very valuable to me. Would do it again anytime – clear recommendation!
