What To Expect
Mount Edgecombe
Our Captain will meet you at centennial hall to usher you down aboard our Hewescraft. On the boat we will teach you about Sitka and Baranof Island and the unique natural and cultural features. The area is rich in history behind with the Tglingit natives, the first Russian settlers who made Sitka the capital of Alaska when they settled here. From there we will find and learn about the local wildlife such as sea lions, otters, whales, eagles, and bears.

5.00We had a fantastic time out on the water with Captain Mike! His boat was great, clean, and very comfortable. It had large windows and made it easy to be inside or out on the deck. He was also incredibly flexible with what the two parties on board wanted to do.Mike is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us a great all-around experience. He really knows how to find the wildlife and tailor the trip for his guests. On top of that, he was so kind and understanding when a member of our party suddenly got sick over the side of the boat. He handled it with total grace and compassion. We had an amazing trip and wouldn't hesitate to go out with him again. Highly recommended!

5.00Captain Mike was awesome! 6 people can fil inside comfortably ~ fortunately only 2 of us .. we had a great time. We saw so many humpback whales! They came so close to the boat, it was incredible. Capt. Mike is super knowledgeable about the whales, fish, sea otters, bears and everything that happens here. This was the best whale watching wildlife tour we have ever been on, and we have been on many. Highly recommended - especially if you want a smaller more private tour.

5.00When whale watching in Sitka Alaska the small boat tours are the best. In that category there is none better than Sitka Sound Marin Wildlife Tour led by Captain Mike Miller. Captain Miller is both accommodating and informative. He knows the area and he shares his knowledge. We had a special needs person on board and Captain Mile went out of his way to make that person feel welcome and safe. Being in a smaller boat (just two couples) Captain Mike could tailor the trip to our desires. Great job Captain Mike.

5.00Sitka Safari goes above and beyond every year for our annual camping trip! We saw sea lions and otters on the way. Mike is very knowledgeable of the marine mammals around Sitka. Top notch service with a great attitude and paddling hard to get us and all our gear safely to shore. Sitka Safari is reliable, friendly, and truly committed to making sure we’re taken care of from dock to campsite. Can’t recommend them enough!
