What To Expect
Kirkjufell Mountain
Total duration included travel time. We leave Reykjavik and drive to Kirkjufell Mountain. The drive takes about 3 h. Kirkjufell holds cultural significance. The mountain's name translates to "Church Mountain," is derived from its resemblance to a church steeple when viewed from certain angles. It has been featured in various forms of media, including television and movies, most notably in the popular HBO series "Game of Thrones."
Saxholl Crater
Next stop in about 30 min. drive is Saxhóll- volcanic crater is a striking geological formation. It is a small, cone-shaped crater that was formed thousands of years ago during volcanic activity in the area.

5.00This was our second day trip with Tomasz, this time touring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, which was some of the most spectacular landscape I’ve ever seen. He is a brilliant guide, looked after us so well (including taking lots of photos for us) he’s super knowledgable about the the area, which meant we could cram so much into one day including lots hidden sights and view points that we would have missed if we travelled on our own. Including the best coffee we had in Iceland at Valeria’s in Grundarfjörõur. Some of the highlights: *Kirkjufell mountain (arrow mountain) *Hellisandur town with graffiti *Saxholl volcano *Djúpalónsandur beach and lava cliffs *Arnarstapi cliffs *Lóndrangar view point *Búðakirkja black church *Ytri-tunga- seals beach Highly recommend both Tomasz and exploring this part of Iceland - if you want to maximise your time, see the unexpected and not have to stress about wha can be challenging driving conditions in winter this is such a great way to do it.
