We went to see some of the buildings that are still preserved after so many were taken down or destroyed throughout the centuries. There are not many that survived the regime change. Abay our guide, a university student, well spoken English took us around in a comfortable pace. We stopped for coffee and also we went to the Artem Bazaar on Ualikhanova street, it’s the local market. Bought some spices, most vendors take cash and only some take cash. It was an informative tour. We are here in the summer and very hot. Recommend umbrella for cover while walking around the old town area. Since this tour we book is in the morning, I had to go airport immediately the tour ends. Avail kindly drop my friend at the largest mall before dropping me at the airport. Overall, great experience & it was flexible and kind of Abay to take me to the airport.

Excellent guide with deep knowledge of Kazakhstan, Astana, and its history. Friendly and accommodating to our interests. I learned so much, and it never felt like a dry history lesson. The guide was also an excellent driver, and the car was very comfortable. Everything was truly top-notch!

We received a warm recommendation for Damir from other travellers, and now we understand why: he is a young Kazakh who is passionate about the country's history and culture, and offers a comprehensive tour of Astana, including some lesser-known spots. Beyond that, he provided us with many great recommendations around and in Astana, from wine tastings to local restaurants. He was always very reliable and accessible and remains available for any questions even after the tour. We can only highly recommend this rising talent! Best regards from Germany!

The Discover Astana team designed the perfect tour, and the experience was absolutely fantastic! It was customized for us to include airport pickup and dropoff, making it a very convenient day trip flying in from Almaty. Our guide, Damir, was exceptional—friendly, helpful, knowledgeable—and spoke English perfectly. He gave us a deep appreciation of Kazakhstan’s history, geography, and culture. The landmarks were all spectacular—from the lovely Russian Orthodox Church and beautiful Grand Mosque to the historic Independence Square and the stunning Millennium Axis and surroundings. Each location offered beautiful photo opportunities and a glimpse into everyday Kazakh life. Lunch was delicious (lagman noodles and veal), and we learned all about the ritual and significance of tea service. To cap off the perfect day, we enjoyed a delightful wine tasting at the Arba Wine Cafe. This was definitely the highlight—unexpectedly great wine, lovely ambiance, and a chance to unwind and learn about the history of wine-making in the region. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Astana. It will leave you with lasting memories and a true appreciation for Kazakhstan!

Very good and thorough tour of the capital city. Would definitely recommend the full day as there is so much to see. Our guide Damir was very lovely and knowledgeable about history and places we saw. Children also enjoyed it as it was moving at the right pace for them.

We booked this tour to get to know the capital of Kazakhstan better after touring the length and breadth of the country. The visit was very interesting and useful to understand the facets of the city also from a political point of view without limiting ourselves to the points already known to visit.
