We will pick you up from your hotel or holiday accommodation at around 6 p.m. After about an hour's drive, we will reach the nature reserve on the east coast of Boa Vista, where 80% of the egg laying takes place. I ask you to wear good shoes and dark and warm clothing! Sometimes we have to be patient, depending on when we can observe the egg laying, we are back at around 11 p.m.

What To Expect

We will pick you up from your hotel or holiday accommodation at around 6 p.m. After around an hour's drive we will reach the nature reserve on the east coast of Boa Vista, where 80% of the eggs are laid (loggerhead turtles). I ask you to wear good shoes and dark, warm clothing. It is recommended that you have mosquito repellent with you! Sometimes we have to be patient, depending on when we can observe the eggs being laid, we will be back at around 11 p.m. We travel in small groups, i.e. max. 12 people. A natural spectacle on the south coast

Very worthwhile night trip to the south coast in the middle of a guarded nature reserve on the edge of moonlit dunes. Arrived after just a few minutes we found it and could observe the laying of eggs of a magnificent fake cartreto turtle very close for a good 30 minutes until closing the breeding ground under expert direction (and great red lighting). A must-see experience, especially as it was perfectly organized by Rotcha Tours (Anita and our safe 4x4 driver who is open to all questions).

This was a wonderful and amazing tour. Fabian and Bernardo were very kind and helpful. The whole tour was conducted with the utmost respect to the turtles and their environment. We saw an adult turtle lay her eggs and then go back to the sea and saw a bunch of baby turtles emerging from a nest.
A definite MUST!!!

Turtle watching is by far the most beautiful experience you can have in Boa Vista. We were a small group of about 8 people. The tour took us to the east coast after about 45 minutes. Once on the beach, you have to wait.As soon as a spotter has spotted a turtle, he passes this on by walkie talkie to the guide, who slowly and quietly leads you to the turtle. In addition to laying eggs, we are also expected to save about 40 babies, for whom we have made it possible to go to sea. Now you hopefully swim somewhere with Nemo and Dorie❤ Thank you Anita for this great experience and the excellent organization!

Absolutely amazing.. the best experience ever. We cannot thank Emanuel and his friend enough for the wonderful service. Starts off with driving on the back of a pickup, in the evening, with the moon and the stars around you, driving through the sand and with tranquility surrounding you. Then the guys found turtles hatching and we saved them by setting them free in the sea. We could do it all over and over again. Outstanding. Thank you so much!!

Sadly we couldn’t actually do the trip as had to cancel same day due to illness but Aneta was amazing offered to just take my daughter (adult) for me as well so she wouldn’t miss it although she decided not to, and she then arranged a partial refund even though we weren’t entitled to one

It was absolutely amazing. We really experienced everything that evening, we were able to see the turtle, the laying of eggs, carry little babies into the sea, the fake enclosures and the original enclosures. Wonderful pictures. Wonderful hours

A sensational natural spectacle that you have to see if you are on Boa Vista during the said period. During the trip we were able to observe the genius of nature and Anita and her team rounded off this trip and made it unforgettable for us. The pick-up was on time and the adventurous trip was carried out very safely. We felt comfortable and safe at all times. A unique experience, and not just for the kids. It is particularly worth mentioning that Anita was still approachable after the trip and was happy to give information. Super great. Rocha Tours is recommended in ANY CASE.👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

So easy from start to finish! The trip lasted around 4 hours from promptly being picked up from the hotel! Seeing the turtles was amazing and made our holiday extra special! Anita and Emanuel were excellent guides, informative, welcoming and kept us safe! Can’t recommend enough!! The trip by open back truck was bumpy at times also but so much fun! Thanks

Amazing and unique experience. There's something of a primordial magic in seeing these creatures slowly but carefully digging and placing the eggs, then covering up and retreating to the ocean. Highly recommended.
