5.00The Quindaro ruins and the surrounding area is an example of how easily important history is neglected. The area should have been protected and resurrected, but it hasn't been. This tour lets all see what a vibrant area it was, how integral to American history it still is, and how it should be made whole. Other locations around the country were deemed worthy of historical reenactments, awarded tourist destination status. Go and learn about what was, let others know about what it should be. Listen to KCUR's feature online: Quindaro isn’t a National Historic Landmark yet. Kansas City's Congress members want to fix that.
A fabulous guide made this a great hike!

5.00This hike has a little bit of something for everyone. We saw some ruins, a babbling brook, some old bridges, butterflies, a cistern, a cave, and the river! Honestly, there's not a lot of the ruins to SEE but our guide, Gary, made up for it with his knowledge and passion about the area. There's a little bit of incline on the hike, but we took it slow and I don't think anyone felt rushed. I will be interested to see how this part of Kansas City develops over the next few decades.

5.00I've been on several hikes with various guides and enjoyed all of them. I've also organized a few private hikes and Lisa has been fantastic to work with. She's proactive in communicating and flexible with scheduling and making accommodations so that our groups had a great experience. Highly recommend a private hike for a family or work/church group activity.
