Krka National Park
Skradinski Buk is one of Croatia’s natural treasures and is the longest and most impressive waterfall on the Krka River. Here your licensed guide will take you on a 30 minutes tour of this stunning cascading waterfall, the centuries old water mills, rolling mills and washing columns where you will see the traditional folk architecture. From there it’s off to the “Golden Flower of Europe award” an award-winning Ethno village to learn about the history of Skradinski Buk. In addition, your guide will show you the rich diversity of the Flora, 1022 recorded species, and the endemic, rare and threatened fauna of Krka National Park. This is where you will get a rare opportunity to admire the crystal clear pools under the Skradinski Buk waterfall and explore its travertine formations. This is a magical experience and something you will always treasure long after you return home. Be sure to bring your camera along.

Amazing tour of the waterfalls! We really wanted to swim and were able to at the first beach stop, there was even changing areas for me to put my bathing suit on. Everything went very smooth and our tour guide Tonko was great. Only feedback I have is I would’ve appreciated learning more history.

The tour visits Skradin before going onto Krka National Park. Our guide Nico was good with tidbits of information on Split, the local area and Skradin & Krka park. It was a good day trip.

The national park is a definite "must see", and tour companies should not need to set unrealistic expectations, but they do! Some things become lost in translation too. First, the waterfalls. The tour was basically a visit to Skradinski buk, a wonderful area with a well-marked, wooden-boarded, self-guided tour route described in the park's own material as the "Educational trail" which could be completed in an hour. This was extremely busy and our guide pointed us to the start and told us we had two hours to complete it and return to the coach. The sights are amazing, although I don't think any of us realised until that point that this small corner of the park was all we were going to see; the other aspects mentioned in the tour summary were very minor aspects of the same walk and not any of the park's lakes or other falls. Now, the "boat trip and swimming". Swimming in the park was banned in 2021, although I did see a park billboard showing swimmers in front of the main waterfall, so some confusion is understandable. The tour summary describes taking a boat within the park and to Skradin, which in practice was outside the scenic area. We were told that the boat was out of service due to mechanical issues and that we would be taken by coach to Skradin instead. There was an option to cancel in advance and receive a refund if we were disappointed with this, but we decided to go ahead. Skradin seemed a nice village (which was described as a city) with a few bars and cafes, a waterfront, and even a beach some distance beyond, but in the hour and 15 minutes we were given to walk from the car park, see the place in passing and return it was not realistic to do more than buy a drink and look at the moored boats. It seemed like a place we could have taken longer to enjoy, had that been possible. Overall, we had two hours to follow the one-hour trail in one part of the park, and one hour 15 minutes in the neighbouring village. We were still glad we went, and would recommend it, but only just, as we felt the trip could have delivered much more. All the tours offered seem to involve the same places with with only small variations in activities; it would be nice to see someone offer a trip to some other parts of the National Park (Roski Slap, Manojloval, Burnam) taking people away from some of the crowds and for which the park entrance fee is half what we had to pay.
